Rangers Cancel Morning Skate due to weather

per Andrew Gross #NYRangers cancel their morning skate.
17 minutes ago via HootSuite

Usually when a trade is imminent management likes to keep the players off the ice.

UPDATE: Flood watch the reason

Awards:
Probably more to do with the weather.

Unless they're trading the entire team.

Nah I'd rather do Rozsival and Gilroy for Spezza.

Nah, you would at least have to add a 2nd to that.

A morning skate cancelled for a few showers? A flood watch is nothing, the city is under one until 12. It's a flood warning that should cancel something if anything.

I agree, seems kinda silly to cancel a practice because of a flood watch.

But I know from my commute this morning that the parkways were flooded all around, so maybe they were having trouble getting there and decided to call it off.

At least its just practice, so its not the end of the world

It has been raining like a mofo up here in westchester. They said poughkeepsie had over 4 inches of rain yesterday before the 2nd wave of rain hit last night

good amount of trees / branches down as well. nasty commute this morning but not as bad as yesterday

Huh. It's been crazy all September out here. We have lakefront property now, and it used to be a cornfield. Highways under water, etc.

The whole east coast has been like that. It rained for three days straight here in Charleston from Tuesday to yesterday. And living here at sea level, you might as well be in a bowl...all it takes is 15 minutes of hard rain and everything floods.

That's understood. But what time was the practice scheduled? If it was scheduled around when Gross made his tweet then the precipitation was more showery in nature.

It rained for about 30 seconds in Los Angeles yesterday. First time in months really.

They just don't want Lundqvist driving in this weather again. Lamborghinis are too expensive.

Heard it was supposed to let up around mid-day.

A flood watch would never cancel work. A flood warning in extreme cases may.
