Angry at who? You... lol.. because you think that Boucher is a better goalie then Theo?
Grow some hair on your chest then talk to me.
I've never said he's better, I only said Theo isn't worth it. And as I said before, there's a difference...but you're too outraged over the fact that I don't see starter potential from what I've seen from Backlund to continue the Theodore argument. All I ever said was that, from what I'd seen, I didn't think he had a high skill level...and you've since run away with that because I didn't watch him enough (for you). I'm a goalie, a goalie coach, and for the better part of my life I've studied goalies...and even though I've seen limited play from Backlund, I just doubt that he's going to be a starter. I don't think it's a crime to state that opinion.
Grow some hair on my chest? Believe me, not an issue. I'm not some kid who doesn't know what he's talking about who you can dismiss away with random acts of hubris.
If you want to keep trying to troll me that's fine, but you're the one who looks like a child. I've made my arguments about Theodore and now all you can do is run around every thread I post in trolling because you can't come up with anything solid.
I'm sorry you don't get to see your favorite goalie on the team, I really am. You seem to adore Theodore, but unfortunately I don't think he's coming on board.
That orange Theo jersey will just have to wait, I'm afraid...and all the trolling in the world won't change that for you.
Betts was robbed. He should have been a star. Why are the def guys so unappreciated?
I like the Giroux Zherdev combo more and more every game. Nice to see that Leino and Betts are reg season ready. Hopefully Briere is next.
Hopefully. I'm a little concerned at hearing that he lost a little bit of weight. I'm sure he'll get it back quickly since it was just an issue of not being able to eat properly, but it could make the start of the year a little rough on him.
One thing across the board that Laviolette wanted to see in these last two exhibitions was more improvement on systems’ play.
For instance, when to initiate his left-wing neutral zone lock and do it correctly.
Even though Laviolette has had a complete training camp to implement his system, this is a work in progress with so many players, and new faces.
“It will [take a while],” Laviolette said. “You start it here. Last year, as we closed out the year and distance that we traveled from where we were in the standings and where we got to, there was a lot of work that went into that. And you get away from everything.
“At the end of the year, you’re playing at the highest level, and on the same page and with a certain identity and you go away for the summer and come back and add new faces, you have to build all of that back.”
Some of the new additions, such as winger Jody Shelley and defenseman Andrej Meszaros, said it’s not complicated but it’s new to them and hard to commit to instant recall right now.
“It hasn’t been difficult,” Meszaros said. “You just have to have better timing. Just better reads. I’m not used to it. But it’s not that I’m not picking it up. I just have to play more games to get it down and I’ll be fine.
“It’s game-by-game. As many games as I play, it will become easier for me to adjust to it. It’s not as hard a system as maybe you might think it is. I feel it’s a good system. Like I said, once we start playing more and more games, it will come.”
Gustaffson (sp) looked really comfortable out there which is the biggest sign for a young dfeenseman IMO. He looked like he belonged out there.
JVR looked good again and got on teh socresheet.
Betts was good to see. Empty net for him was awesome!!
O'Donnel is nice to have on the 3rd pairing, not awesome, but solid.
Shelley is better then Cote. Not worth the money still.
Boucher was pretty good. He just needs to play average with the defense we have.
I think we noticed Gustaffson too much tonight for my liking. He fumbled with the puck too much and forced his partner to come over and help him out. He's not ready for the speed of the NHL yet, but he does have promise.
Solid is definitely the word I'd use for O'Donnell. He's a guy I didn't notice unless I forced myself to key on him.
Shelley is completely useless on this team. Darroll Powe is more useful in the everyday lineup the way he battles to steal the puck and push it up ice, Shelley couldn't keep up with the ballerinas the Sabres had out there.
JVR's goal was a beauty, love to see hands like that in tight.
Zherdev looked pretty good out there. Definitely has the offensive tools we hoped to see, but his deficiencies in the defensive zone haven't changed. He needs to play with the right linemates. I'd love to see a scorer like him on a line with a good passer like Giroux, but we might get stuck in our own zone.
Also, did anyone else here that Zherdev wants his first name to be changed from Nikolai to Nikolay?
