Dubi will come around. He always does.

I'm more concerned with the D. Especially Eminger. He was clearly out-played by the rookie McD. McD was solid all-around. Spezza made Eminger look really bad on both of his goals. Eminger was poofing out brain-farts when it came to positioning. MDZ needs to simplify his game. He was forcing the play a little last night. Aside from that...MDZ should be OK as long as he tidies up in his own end. I didn't particularly care for the way Gilroy managed the puck on the PP. But defensively, he seemed to be solid.

lets pray Emminger and White suck so management does the right thing and waives them both to Hartford for the year.

Plus after the deadline if their is cap space White may be a good call up, Eminger just blows and they have way better D prospects to call up. Only on 1 yr deals so whatever

10 million bucks in Hartford,holy crap/ Redden / White/ Eminger

The defense showed good signs of supporting each other, and backing each other up in their own zone. So, it's not like they aren't working at it. Sometimes the communication looked quite good, in my opinion. They just seem to hold the puck too long sometimes, like they don't know what to do, and then the clock runs out and they turn it over. I actually yelled out loud at Gilroy when he had all kinds of time and then threw it to the blue line. Thank you very much said the Senators player.
It will improve as long as they recognize it as something to work on.

Eminger simply was outclassed. It's not like he is going to improve a lot, so therefore can be thought of as a weakness. I thought he was Exelby for a second but quickly remembered that that problem had already been eliminated.

Woah. I would doubt this game is very close. Ottawa is playing their NHL team and the Rangers are sitting most of their top-2 lines and top-2 defensive pairings.

I have a feeling tonight may get ugly. Hoping to see Boogaard go with Carkner.

We have some clues but nothing decisive yet.

No Gaborik or Callahan
No Prospal
No Rozsival

No Staal-Girardi

I guess we can assume the D pairings are

Del Zotto-Eminger
Valentenko-Sauer
McDonagh-Gilroy

I thought I read somewhere no Frolov, Gaborik, Callahan, Anisimov(not sure about him) Staal, Girardi. White, MZA, Kennedy, Weise, Valentenko, Sauer in.

That was quick: Dale Weise and Mats Zuccarello have been recalled by Rangers for tonight's preseason game in Ottawa.

Steve Zipay
Tonight's NYR lineup in Ottawa, Gaborik, Frolov, Avery, Callahan, Staal, Girardi get a break

Unless we pick up another vet, Eminger should be on the team as the #7. Whatever rookie wins the #6 thats fine, but why have the 7th guy be someone who could be getting minutes in Hartford?

I guess that means it would have to be Sauer as the 6, since he would have to pass waivers to go down..

That was my first reaction too. Spezza seemed like a man on a mission last night, so the D will need to tighten up if we're to stand a chance. Karlsson looked good and their puck movement on the PP was excellent.

Any word on Lundqvist going or not?

Most likely Biron the entire game.

So would this guy Zack Smith drop em with Boogard?

I'm getting impatient now, waiting for that first fight in a Rangers jersey.

No. Carkner may but I am not sure either want to risk getting injured in a pre-season game. Carkner had a lot of fights last year with Orr who I think will go with Boogaard.

With Staal, Girardi, Rozsival and Del Zotto a lock for #1-4, Gilroy (apparently) having secured #5, Sauer as #6 makes perfect sense. And I'd rather have Eminger sit in the pressbox as #7, have McDonagh mature his pro game and Valentenko the NA style in the AHL, both playing 20+ mins. a night... They'll be up soon enough... as much as I love McD and VTank, I see them going to Hartford

I don't think so.

Matt Carkner is the heavyweight for Ottawa... he also fought Colton Orr three times last season.
