How about this-

Why don't we stop trying to trade or pick up 3rd and 4th liners and 3rd pairing defenseman as we already have plenty of both....

I vote no more trade/pickup scenarios that don't involve a team need

I like Shane but the guy I want out of Vancouver is Bieska...he is a mean SOB.

How about Rozival and one of our 2nd's for him.

Well, if Sauer is not going to make the team, the choice is either a) trade him or b) risk losing him on waivers.

If we're going to lose him on waiver, obviously a trade is a better option.

left handed though. Whose spot does he take or do we roll out a 2 lefty pairing? Staal, MDZ, McD are lefties. Girardi, Rozy are righties. Obvious answer is McD but it would suck to lose his spot to a waiver pick up, even if it was a good one. Would we just go:

Staal - Girardi
MDZ - Rozy
McD - O'Brien

I think we should just stick with what we have on D. Anybody know why he was waived? Cap hit his 1.6m FYI.

Odd man out in Vancouver. Mediocre big bodied bottom pairing d-man. Can elevate his game at times but generally doesn't.

He's been in the doghouse so much due to having a bad attitude with the Canucks. He could be good, but nothing suggests he is going to be. Overpaid at 1.6 for sure, don't think that I would want the Rangers to go for him at half-price either.

Sooner or later i'll learn to stop clicking these threads, but until then....

How about we assign staal, rozy, girardi, del zotto, gilroy and McD to the minors and construct a SUPER D around other peoples waiver trash like sheldon souray and shane obrien and any other washed up or overprices crapball that our fans to covet over own own players....
anyone think we can weasel jeff finger out of toronto to anchor our first pairing?

Solid player, but Valentenko plays the same and is way more skilled. Build from within please.

Wasn't suggesting we pick him up at all, and I certainly don't 'covet' him over anyone. Just thought it was worth mentioning when I spotted it.

I wasn't trying to single you out or anything, I haven't seen very many of your posts either so I don't know what kind of poster you are, I'm just expecting a parade to the thread to talk about how much we NEED shane obrien, from the same people that were clamoring for a rookie to get a shot two days ago.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Valentenko play the same style... but better?

If the Rangers plan is to keep two of Sauer/Tank/McD as the 5th and 6th and Eminger as the 7th, then I guess it would make sense for them to consider O'Brien as a replacement to Eminger.

But then there is the issue of the 50 contract limit. Is O'Brien that much of an upgrade over Eminger that they would be willing to add another contract? (I'm not sure since I haven't really seen O'Brien play)

I hope the Isles take him...

Hopefully we're looking at him strictly from a 7th defenseman POV
