So do we know what's going on with Maroon? I mean, I like the guy, but is it time to be worried yet?

Wellwood Holmstrom Testwuide
Legein Kalinski Laliberte
Klotz Rinaldo Moore

Andrew Rowe - LW (I was impressed with his preseason Flyers debut)
Shane Harper - RW
Tye McGinn - LW
Matt Clackson - LW
They have tried Nodl on the top lines the past 2 seasons, and he still shows he had 0 offense. Last season he even killed Ross and Legein. Id switch Legein and Nodl and would like the look of those lines. I still like Rowe though. I think he was one of the underrated ones during camp.

He was hurt during camp. He wore the A last night. Guy got pissed off during practice last week though. Slammed his stick on the ice or bench or something and snapped it in half. No one really knows why (I dont think even PSPhantoms knew why)

Joacim Eriksson has had his next start for Skellefteå. They won with 6-3 against Brynäs If.

Highlights
http://tv.hockeyligan.se/main.aspx?c...d=265535574017

Simon Bertilsson had 14 minutes of ice time in this game, going -1

Mario Kempe has, as well as the entire Djurgården team, had a rough start to the season and there are some rumblings that if Marcus Nilson (recently cut by NJ) returns Kempe will be the odd man out. Don't have a link for that, just a rumour I heard.

Heard that even though he let in 3 goals, he still had a pretty good game. (Dont know if its true, just some stuff I read if you can clarify)

I don't really know, have just seen the highlights, but from what I've picked up he looked a lot better than in his first game. Nothing special though.

Eriksson had a nightmare start again when he let the first shot on goal in, but it was in BP and our team probably has the worst BP in the entire SEL atm. He upped his game in the second and third and had a couple of great saves. So yes I'd say he had a good game.

BP means PK, I think. We Swedes have a tendency to introduce English terms into our language that isn't being used by English speakers. We're kind of stupid. BP means box play... which is the same thing as penalty killing. Another example of this practice would be the old two line pass rule which was called red line offside over here.

Anyway, Eriksson's coach had some pretty nice words to say about him after the game, calling him a "damn good goalie" or something similar at least, can't quite remember exactly what he said. Hopefully he'll get more equal playing time to Hadelöv as the season goes on.

He's going to have to produce more to get more playing time at this point.

That said, I haven't seen him play an SEL game just yet. I'm hoping to get on that soon. It does seem like he's having a rough go of it though.

That's a good thing though. Eriksson hasn't had to face any sort of adversity the past couple of years. Now that he's beginning to face some, we're going to see what kind of player he is. And the fact that the coach has already said he's a good goaltender means that he's got the mental make up to pull out of it. The good news is that it's early in the season and there's lots of time. I hope they do the right thing and let him play his way out of the funk he's in.

Agreed on every point. This is exactly why the Flyers wanted him to take his turn in the SEL.

Woops haha, yeah sometimes you forget when it's in english.. PK ofc.

I'm pretty sure Hadelöv will be the consensus number one, but there is no doubt Eriksson will get plenty of SEL experience this year. Besides, Hadelöv is an old veteran and will make a great mentor.

double post, sorry. Found an article on Gustafsson, which mentions most of the Phantom's D core as well.

Quote:
Bill Meltzer wrote, “According to Derian Hatcher, it’s ‘no contest’ that Erik Gustafsson is the most skilled and polished of the defense prospects who attended the rookie camp earlier in the week.” Do you agree? What is your impression of Erik Gustafsson?

I didn’t get in to town until after the rookie camp, but I’m not surprised that Meltzer thought that. The first word I think of with Gustafsson is poised. When he got to Adirondack last season, he immediately reminded me of Danny Syvret, who he played on the power play with. I don’t mean Gustafsson projects out to be Danny Syvret, but that he was already at that level on his first day. And Syvret is a really good AHL player.

Gustafsson just always seemed to make the right play with the puck. At the AHL level, you see a lot of panic moves from rookies, even guys as highly thought of as Kevin Marshall and Marc-Andre Bourdon. Gustafsson was solid from Day 1. He always had his head up and looked like he had an idea of what to do with the puck before it ever got to him.

According to McManus (PSPhantoms) Riopel was sent to the CHL and McGinn is back in Juniors.

My twitter feed says ECHL for Riopel. That would suck if they couldn't find him an ECHL starting job. At least that league still develops goalies. Once they hit the CHL it's bye bye bye.

Too bad for McGinn. I know he really wanted to stay in the AHL this year.

Yes, ECHL, just a typo. Not the biggest difference though, regarding the level of play.

Bertilsson is back playing after his knee injury, two games, zero points, plus three.
