Well, if the D keeps playing like this, it'll be a real good look at how Bob can handle himself.

i don't hold him solely responsible, but from everything i've seen tonight, he just isn't ready.

I hope the D tries harder for Bob. The last thing we need is overextending himself trying to stop this run in a game that doesn't matter. I also don't want to see him get lit up like Backlund has, either...at this point we just need to get out of this game as soon as possible and then forget all about it.

Yeah, I feel like this is a game of NHL 10 and I'm Buffalo. Just lol-worthy. Looks like easy mode out there.

Also, **** anyone who has been blaming Backlund during this game (and I've seen a few of you in this topic).

He's received no help whatsoever defensively (seriously, I've never seen such bad d-zone coverage), he got the C team, Buffalo brought out their A team, and Backlund is playing for like the first time in 6 months.

Seriously, I feel bad for Backlund. He isn't even being given a chance to show what he has. Not only did they wait until the last pre-season game to play him at all, but they also gave him possibly the worst team possible to play in front of him.

This is just ridiculous.

It's not the Flyers fault. If he was hurt, he was hurt.

Look at all the reasons I've high-lighted in my previous post. We brought the worst team possible to play in front of Backlund, Buffalo practically brought their best team possible, Backlund hasn't played in like six ****ing months, and the defensive coverage was absolutely atrocious to flat-out non-existent on every single one of the goals against.

It's ridiculous and, frankly, idiotic to judge Backlund just on this one game.

Wasn't he on the bench as the backup the last game or two?

Yea, I'm not a Backlund fan at all, but this is just ridiculous.

Honestly, I'm a little ashamed that our coaching staff didn't at least give him some support, as far as legit NHL players. Could we have thrown out a more pathetic lineup?

Testwuide and Laliberte are doing some good things on the PP, but they're far too content to play along the perimeter. Everybody just looks scared to take the puck into the center of the ice and risk turning it over and getting scored on again, or something.

Good to see them work the cycle, and all...but at this point there are very few good things happening for us in this game.

Last game, but you don't know how ready he was. Best not to jump to conclusions. They made the decision to give him this whole game.

It sucks, but if he was healthy, he would've gotten the go before Bob this preseason.

I made the comment last March that after the NHL decided not to suspend Carcillo for shoving a linesman in the Boston game, that the refs would make sure that they would form their own justice against Carcillo.

I love it when fans of opposing teams bash other teams commentators for being homers, as if theirs weren't at all.

Yeah, I have no idea how the coaching staff couldn't see this coming, unless they though, for whatever reason, that Buffalo would play only prospects and fringe NHLers as well.

I even said on the first page of this topic that I can't see us winning.

When i just saw the score i said "WTF?!" because I was expecting the season opening roster to be playing in this final exhibition game. But, once I looked at who we have dressed, I understand the score

poor Backlund

Nice, I just moved to Cinnaminson this Summer. BTW I couldn't steam from the Flyers site either tonight.
