Will flyers start with these goalies in season or look for a new guy?
Boucher, who didn't play, is the starter right now. There were only a handful of regulars playing tonight. Goaltending has been impressive throughout the preseason. Boucher and either Backlund or Bobrovsky will be the duo heading into the start of the season.
Bob hasn't looked bad of what I've seen so far. Thanks for all of this though.
To those saying send Bob to AHL... I don't understand why. Explanation?
Because he needs to be getting playing time where ever he goes. He also has had very little time in North America, needs to learn some English to communicate on the ice, and has only had a professional goalie coach for a month or so.
He needs to be playing. Sitting on the bench in the NHL (where he will only play, at most, twice in the first month of the season) is not what he needs to be doing when he could be playing virtually every AHL game.
He let in 7/20....he must've gone blind in the six months since hes played or something.
Read through the posts and compare the two lineups tonight.
Backlund wasn't bad. The defense was utterly atrocious tonight and he was left out to dry on virtually every goal. We fielded a team mostly filled with AHL players (remember that our prospect pool is crappy) and fringe NHL players versus a team that fielded mostly their NHL lineup.
Our top line was centered by Powe and had Guerin on it's wing. Do you really need to look further then that to see what went wrong tonight?
