Montreal-Nashville proposal.

A proposal that wouldn't affect either teams this season, but simply covering needs for both teams in the future. I offer straight up..

To Nashville: Max Pacioretty
To Montreal: Charles Olivier-Roussel

Pacioretty needs 1 good year in the AHL, mostly on being better positioned and finding a more constent offensive touch, but in a year he can pretty much add toughness and size to a forward group that has none.

Roussel is a hometown D the Habs can slowly develop with Leblanc. We have 0 offensive lefty defensmen in the system, and i love Roussel's vision and his ability to find that forward and restart an attack.

You guys think it's fair?

( P.S: I know I'm a Habs fan, but don't worry, i plan on sticking around and replying to my own thread...)

I like this one. Pacioretty can certainly develop into a decent top 6 forward and Roussel into a top 4 D . IMO Pacio is alot closer to NHL ready than ROussel is , so Nashville might need to add a 5th or 6th rounder

Roussel is amazing, people are saying that he plays the game like Shea Weber just not quite as big as Shea.

No from Preds POV.

1 no from each fan base. Give it three or four more each and you know you've got a good proposal.

That said, Nashville isn't exactly short on defense, and I doubt they'd miss him since they have Ellis too.

I actually find it more funny that the OP's name is "Maxpac" and makes this trade proposal.

I like Pacioretty a lot but I would be tempted to do it from a depth POV.

I knew somebody would post that . I got that username in 2007. Anyways, yes i am a Pacioretty fan, but our D prospect depth is running pretty thin now that Subban has graduated (or is about too). We have NHL potential left side defensmens other then Tinordi, and Roussel pretty much covers everything the Habs are looking for. Nashville is getting good value for him though, Maxpac still has potential to be a pretty good powerforward and is only 21 years old.

Another Preds fan votes no just because I know how bad Canadien fans want hometown players. I don't want give them the satisfaction.

C'mon throw in some more players. Then maybe.

I like it.

We aren't dumping AK and Pouliot for table scraps, it will be hard for Maxpac to leap frog them on the depth chart.

I like this proposal and I think that getting both yes and no form the respective fan-bases indicates its a relatively even trade. My only hesitation is that without Patches we are incredibly weak prospect-wise on the LW, but I guess you could just convert Astvin or someone else to LW.

Avstyn is a LW, we have Pouliot and Cammalleri who should be here for a long time, Eller and Boyd can play LW too. Personally I think we should be fine. We can always trade for one if the need comes.

Unless Pax is a top 6 for sure, why would trade Weber light for him? COR will be a valuable commodity for us in a few years. Thanks but no thanks.

Both players have to eat their vegetables to get to NHL top 6 or top 4, not only Pacioretty. That's a fair trade. An offensive D man for a talented winger with size and speed. I'd sign up for it.
