I think it will be Schenn also.

Smyth-Kopitar-Brown
Richardson-Stoll-Williams
Ponivarovsky-Handzus-Simmonds
Clifford-Schenn-Westgarth
Lewis/Clune

Mitchell-Doughty
Johnson-Scuderi
Muzzin-Harrold
Drewiske

Quick
Bernier

Clifford will go back to juniors after 9 games, or when Parse comes back.

Which is exactly why I think they'll be staying with the big club.

I thought I posted in the "roster cuts" thread but I agree.

Great game report by Zad. Thanks, man.

I read earlier today that our entire first line would be a healthy scratch tonight. My first thought – that’s interesting but why? My post game impression of the move? Smart. Stripping down the team to its naked core by removing its top three forwards did two things: First, it magnified the remaining players’ performance. Imagine placing each of the rookies and one veteran in particular (I am looking at you Jarret) under the microscope.

I was at the game. Here is my take on the game itself as well as the house of horrors that is the Honda Center.

I don't understand why the Kings are so reluctant to play Loki on the LW. With that said I do like Richardson's game.

I predict Schenn replaces Stoll on the 2nd line before the half way mark.

He was covering Corey Perry who was in front of the net.

Btw, great job Zad.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the part where Johnson backed all the way into Bernier and didn't give him any room to move on Perry's shot.

Is it possible that JMFJ may have actually arrived? I'm not talking about Jack Johnson. I'm talking about JMFJ, you know the one that was hyped to death but never actually showed up. I get a boner just thinking about JMFJ and Doughty.

If Doughty progresses even a tiny bit and JJ carries his play into the regular season, then a beautiful season surely awaits us.

Spot on reflection on the game as well as preseason, Zad.

A few quickies:

Clune was waived today. I'm not surprised. I liked this kid and what he brought to The Kings: An Avery-like agitator minus the Avery baggage. Clune came into this pre season extremely in shape but just didn't play bigger than his small stature and lack of hockey skills. He should have been baggin' bodies. Fighting anything that skates. Playing his heart. I didn't see it.

Lewis. Not a fan. Didn't we already try the Guilano experiment? That lasted a tad too long. Sure, he was ok on penalty kills, but, well?

Loki is downright sneaky. I'd love to see how many points he racks up in the first 9 games, if management ends up giving him that.

Schenn and Clifford should make for an exciting youth movement this season (which begs the question: Can The Kings get any younger?), kind of like Hall and Paajarvi on Edmonton.

Can't argue about that; it's just they are quite different players.

Such a weird feeling to finally have some talent coming up...

First of all there's is no 9 game thing for Loki. No matter where he plays he burns the year off his contract this year, he can freely be sent back and forth with Manchester.

Lewis is alot more skilled than Giulano, IMO. Rather than being just straight speed he can also shutdown with some offensive upside. A young Todd Marchant, IMO.

Agree on Clune, I am hoping this is the last time we will see him. If the Kings want to compete they should have gritty players that can actually play hockey.

Thanks for the video! Man Clifford is gonna be a crowd favorite like very soon indeed. Love his game no fear and fights everyone, and is actually a good fighter too. I think we finally have a true middle weight who can fight and will not be a liability. We haven't had one of those guys for awhile now. I think. Saturday cannot come soon enough. Hope this kid makes the team.
