That's what makes a good Brandon Bochenski candidate.

How Camps isnt running away with this is beyond me

The debate about the true meaning of the award is a lot like the Hart trophy - its supposed to be most valuable player but a lot of people think of it as best player. I like the Bochenski more as an award for preseason excellence that won't be sustained, so I also chose Campoli

Yippers.

Just like the imortal B-Bo, the award should go to the one who won't carry the production to the regular season. I expect that Foligno will carry his prouction to the regualr season if he's given 2nd line minutes and PP time. Campoli will be hard pressed to put up points plaing on the 3rd pairing.

Campoli gets my vote.

It seems silly to attribute any other possible meaning to the award. That is the only thing that made Bochenski's pre-season remarkeable. He sort of came out of nowehere and lit it up like no one's business and then returned to previously known levels of mediocrity. Denis Hamel did the same thing in 06-07 (lit it up in pre-season, waived by February). Guys playing well in pre-season is not unusual.

Foligno, would have voted Spezza if the award were being given through its original intent (and he were an option).

Giving the award to someone who will not continue his production seems pretty negative and pointless (I know it's pretty funny to argue it's pointless when talking about an award with absolutely no actual value).

Maybe next season we should take up a collection and give a donation to charity in the name of the winner.

The whole point of the award is to be humorous though, I mean wasn't part of Fisher winning it last year due to people saying theres no way in hell he puts up points due to his abysmal season the year before?

I edited the poll to account for your error (funnily it swayed the lead from Campoli to Foligno).

Foligno. I thought all three were excellent with Campoli and Smith making late charges for this prestigious honour.

Let's hope all three keep it up

Yup - that's why I voted "Campoli"

IMO what a magnificent trophy that a player can display with pride at home .

We really need to define the award better; "Given to the player who most exceeds expectations during preseason" ?

or maybe

"Given to the player who surpasses previous performance and achieves excellence during preseason"

Dunno - we have top work on that.

Foligno winning is ridiculous. He didnt have the best statistical PS by a long shot, and he didnt stand out all that much aside from stats.

He had a good pre season, but this award is a pretty big deal. He wasnt even in the top 3 for me.

Maybe the award should be given after the season, and be defined:

"Awarded to the player whose pre-season should have lasted 82 games."
