I just hope this isn't for Souray @ full value on his contract. 1/2 on re-entry waivers, fine. Otherwise, huge pass.

What kind of trade do you think would bring him in? Re-Entry waivers are not an option. Even if Edmonton does bring him back up, he'll be going to the Isles or someone else. He won't get to us at 2.7

I can score 20 with Sid dishing me the puck.

I am the size of 2 washed up slugs

I have to think that if they were willing to take Souray at full value, a deal would have happened already.

why dont we wait and see what happens before everyone bugs out about kennedy....he wasnt amazing in camp and honestly theres no room for him on our roster...especially when drury comes back

not to mention if someone goes down this means one of the kids, mza, weise or grachev will get nhl time which i am happy about.

I would claim Parent for 925 K

btw Drury was skating today in full gear according to Gross. Maybe he will be in the lineup?

This is good for Stepan . Waiving Kennedy and White that is

C'mon, Singn. You're better than that. Messier scored 18 goals in each of his last 2 seasons and Rangers fans were basically begging him to retire.

I don't really understand what everybody liked about Kennedy. He wasn't horrible by any means but I don't see what everybody saw in him. No tears shed here.

That said, I'm nervous about what Sather is planning on doing. Who are our healthy scratches now? What defenseman is he trying to get?

By the way, this leaves us with 12 forwards on the roster.

So... Until Drury comes back, they aren't getting any rest.

I'm almost positive these moves are to create cap space. But for who? Souray at full value? They wouldn't possibly do that right?

But they're creating space. I wouldn't think they'd create it for cushion. They're up to something. But what... Hmmmmmm...

if this is to make room for souray, i have mixed emotions.

i think souray would help the pp out a hell of a lot.

then again, i'm pretty sure he's a career minus player and he's ALWAYS injured.

is 2.7, or whatever he'll be at on re-entry worth having him kill us at even strength but give the pp a serious boost?

as for kennedy, honestly, i don't see what the love affair was all about. he's a serviceable player but that's it. i think this is simple, if management thinks that a guy like mza or even weise are a better option than kennedy then what's all the *****ing about?

apparently u can. guerin is awful at this stage of his career. he can't skate anymore and doesnt really do anything but stand in front of the net with world class players getting him goals.

Can someone explain to me why this team needs another defenseman? If you want a guy with some more experience on the 3rd pairing, it should be Eminger at this point or could've been Semenov.

Redden's demotion, Prospal's potential season ending injury, White's larger salary going through waivers.

Glen Sather's got a little bit of cap space again "He's baaaaaaaaaaack"

The only thing about Kennedy is he can play anywhere. It's just nice to have, especially with his work ethic. Maybe they figure MZA, who can play either wing, is the next call up and our center depth means Kennedy is replaceable.

Too bad - we could've signed Brendan Morrison for 750K - certainly a better Center than White or Kennedy.

Yes, people were begging him to retire because he was blocking all the young talent in the organization (BTW, whatever happened to those guys?) Mess was still one of the top goal scorers on that team. And if they had played Messier as a third line center, there would have been less whining.

Look, I'm not advocating Guerin. I just wouldn't be surprised.

Drury will be back soon.

Trading for Souray would be the biggest facepalm

Not to mention he'd have to be called back up through waivers and would probably get claimed!

So no, unless Sather is literally (and I mean actually literally) retarded, he won't trade for Souray

Morrison is pretty much done, it's just that no one will admit it. He's not really an upgrade over anyone on the Rangers

So basically Brian Boyle's "pigs flying" few games gets Kennedy waived? I can't wait until he does NOTHING all season. ugh...

If Prospal isn't out long they needed two cuts. White's just making too much but Kennedy was on the cusp too--and it's tough when you're 5'10 and can't make it into the top 9. If no one claims Kennedy--he may stick around until the others come back. Rangers might think that there's less chance of losing him now when so many other players are going through waivers than in two weeks or so when he may be the only one going down through waivers.

Could be a trade in the works as well or someone they want to claim.

I don't think it's Souray either. And with Eminger... I can understand why they're looking a different direction for a vet "D". This blue line is awfully young (MDZ, Sauer, Girardi, Gilroy, Staal).

Like I said, trading for him would be monumentally retarded because you couldn't actually play him without getting him back through waivers. And the Oilers haven't placed him on re-entry waivers so there's nothing going there...

Why are people talking about Ryan Suter. He's an awesome defenseman who isn't going anywhere.
