Guerin would be like Shanny at the end of his career here.

If he doesn't go down then he doesn't have to go through re-entry waivers, does he?--cutting out the part about paying half of his salary for him to play on another team.

It's probably true that I don't understand the ins and outs of waiver procedure very coherently but there are a lot of ins and out nonetheless.

Gross says a move is unlikely today in his blog.

This is similar to one of the many times where Rissmiller/Voros get put on waivers, don't get picked up, and then remain with the club instead of getting sent down.

Nothing doing here.

Not yet, still in a meeting apparently. Gross assumes nothing's likely today though, obviously from stuff he's heard or, more pertinently, not heard.

I think someone will pick up Kennedy - especially considering his cap hit.

I'm not even sure what to make all of this.

If this team were to aquire Souray it would be the biggest blunder since the Kotalik signing, and on proportion with the Ozolinch acquisition, the Tyutin trade, and the Nylander fiasco.

acquire as in trade for? yes, I am in full agreement with you.

However, a re-entry claim not so bad and waived later is crap, no harm, no foul.

You mean the signing in the 1st place? Or not signing a long crippling contract?

Im against the long crippling contract, but if memory serves me right we had agreed to like a 2 year, 9 mil deal with his agent, which Nylander promptly fired and signed with two teams at the same time.

that fiasco.

Surprised to see Kennedy get waived, but considering Fedotenko was signed and Drury is close to returning, I suppose it was inevitable. White wasn't very impressive.

Curious to see how things shake out. It'd be interesting to see something significant, but I'm sure it'll be another shuffling of spare parts.

I thought it was 3 years at 11 million.

IMO is not that bad. If he played another year with Jagr, Jags probly would have hit his cheap bonus year for us. So we'd only be stuck with one Jagr free Nylander year. And at less than 4 mil per.

People who think Souray is bad defensively haven't watched him play. He is on par with Streit defensively.

#NYRangers GM Glen Sather says Kennedy and White on waivers to give team cap flexibility in case they want to absorb another contract.
