Wow, I thought he was going to be on the team this year. I wonder if they're doing with Zigomanis and putting him on waivers, but not assigning him to the AHL incase another team wants him. If not he will be with the big club.

Are you talking about Lundmark, Johnson, or Sulzer...because Zigomanis is not in our camp...
that is a shame. that kid played well enough to earn a roster spot, yet soft as a marshmellow franson had a #%^%$@^% job.
Franson is a niche guy. He has a role that he performs well. Sulzer does everything "okay," but nothing well. If anything, it's Johnson that should have felt cheated, yesterday.
So would Sulzer go down to the AHL if unclaimed, or stay will the big club?
Probably will be reassigned. Last year, we started the year with 6 defenders, so we will probably do the same this year. Belak is our emergency 7th dman. I think we want Sulzer to play rather than be scratched.
Recall waivers don't really bother me. I'd rather pay him half his salary for him to be gone than his full salary to be a perma-scratch or play in Milwaukee...
I don't even view him as the next call up anyway. If we have to recall him, then we are in trouble.
If there is an injury, I don't think he's exposed to waviers. Not exactly sure what happens if/when everone gets healthy.
Regardless, 650K is probably the profits from one playoff game. For all the fuss that made about how to have to make the playoffs to turn a profit, we could have a couple million sitting in the minors.
so we are only going with 6 dmen? I guess that a money saving move, especially since we are home for 5 of the first 6. I cant imagine we'd only take 6 on the road unless the emergency plan is to play belak at D.
maybe it was a good faith move by the preds. they may have told hm you are going to be the 7th d-man and he wanted an oppurtunity to be a regular top 6 defenseman anywhere and poile put him on waivers. no on ebites, alex eats some humble pie and hopefully works to knock someone out of the lineup

I think it could definitely be that, but regardless, due to visa issues O'Brien isn't scheduled to arrive before late Thursday or Friday, so until he's in town and ready to play I wouldn't expect Sulzer to be going anywhere...
