Really unless I'm forgetting something the East is Wsh and pitt with everything else being a crapshoot. Your guess is as good as mine who besides those two will emerge ESPECIALLY with the 6-8 spots where last year what was it 8 teams had a shot with two weeks to go. My leading choices would be Phili, Montreal, Boston, etc but atlanta, Carolina, TB even the Isles all look to be better. No dominant teams consistently besides Pitt and washington. NJ always wins too obviously. I have no prob with some1 saying we could go to the 5 seed. Some of the other predictions are pretty bad though,.

If he's a fan, it's of the Rangers. I only say that because he was 50 when the Devils left Colorado and became the Devils.

That reminds me. In high school we watched a video on the history of the subway. Stan Fischler shows up in the thin in the first 20 minutes. Had no idea he was a subway historian before that day. Pretty epic when you see Stan on some random video in high school.

He definitely knows a ton about history being so old and all, but I think he has lost his mind.

How he could be a Devils fan? He is 78 years old. He is an Original Six fan. Either Rangers or Toronto.
He ain't idiot, just works for MSG.

I hate Gary Bettman with every fiber of my being, but I almost threw up listening to Stan Fischler argue with him over the Kovalchuk/Devils saga on that post-game interview Saturday night. IMO, Bettman actually did something right for once, and when the 'Maven' had the audacity to argue him over it, I wanted to punch his senile face in.

To be fair to Fischler, the editor might have made a few mistakes in the nicknames when transferring the article from Stan's typewriter to the internet.

I think the nicknames were the editors interpretation of indents left between the first and last names by Stan's hammer and chisel.

Funny, he fawned endlessly over the Islander dynasty team and subsequently their late 80's early 90's teams when I was young. I think he just goes with the team that's paying him the most at the time though

This guys a dope, he's a clown with less makeup. He tries to steal everyone else's act as if it were his own, does a poor job of it because he's half senile and doesn't know what he's talking about in the first place. I don't get how he has his job???? Can I go on TV and be a buffoon for a while please and make lots of money?

I wonder if he snorts a lot of blow and that's why he's so dopey, kinda like Farley? LOL

I just watched the atlantic division preview on espn.com with Hradek and Melrose...man oh man what a stiff melrose is. I seriously think these guys just try to BS their way through their jobs. Yeah he's probably right the rangers will be fighting for a playoff spot but he says they didnt address their scoring problems at all.....i guess he missed us signing frolov

He's a nice old man.

Don't blame him for MSG giving him a job.

Did he really say we didnt address it at all. Because at all would make him an idiot. If he said we didn't address it completely or something to that effect than yea he is dead right. Idk b/c I didn't see it tho

I don't know how you can say he's a pass first guy. Last time he was productive (08-09) he scored 32 with 27 assists. His most productive year he scored 35 with 36 assists. Over his career he averages only 6 and a half more assists than goals a season. The guy is a goal scorer, not an elite goal scorer like Gaborik, but definitely a goal scorer.

He basically did. All he seemed to talk about was how we added boogard and we only focused on getting tougher. We just have gaborik, henrik, and a young defense. Now I'm not questioning the young D part, but to say we did nothing about our scoring problem is BS. Frolov may not solve the problem but he will help and that is doing something.

There's no way either one will score 30.

I think he's more of a Devils fan but he grew up on the Rangers. They can keep him as far as I'm concerned.
