I would have to say looking that the mask creation that one side is all things russian and the other side is all things american/philly, which is why I said earlier the one side with the liberty bell would be an f-15.

Cool. Anybody recognize the crest on the left side of the back plate?

Edit: Since one of the images expired, I've rehosted all of them on IMGUR, where they should stay accessible:

The crest is the city of Novokuznetsk, where he played for Metallurg.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novokuznetsk

Now we know the planes too, an F-15 on the right and Su-35 on the left.

"Heard" that he saw Hexxy's photo - and was very adamant that his mask is different. As I explained - jets are there to signify "Flyers" and US one is over City Hall and Russian one is over Russian side. To add - he has no idea what they actually are - Su, MiG, F... And I don't think he cares ))))

Forgot to add, on the russian side, the building on the left is Spasskaya Tower. Not sure what the other one is.

I knew what you meant, GFH. It just, for whatever reason, made the "Hello Nitty" thing jump into my head and I thought it was funny. Wish I had access to PhotoShop!

And for special penance over being a Russian, I firmly believe that Bob should have to include a pic of Ed Van Impe on his mask.

I love how when there is a question regarding anything Russian you come in, give everyone the correct answers to their questions, and they just continue on with their debate anyway like you never even spoke.

Just so you know, I appreciate your seemingly inside Russian hockey knowledge.

I don't know if you've heard, but nobody really cares about the truth on the internet, they just like to argue

I aboslutely love it. Oddly, my favorite part is his name on the backplate and chin. Too many goalies go with some stupid modernized old english, tattoo-lookalike script that is way too hard to read.

Yes i did a lot of time TDY to Kadena back in the late 70s. I was stationed at Beale AFB up in Northern California and worked on the SR-71 black bird.We had a detachment over at Kadena where we typically kept a few SR-71 aircraft that we supported on regular TDY rotations from Beale.Best time of my career was being part of the SR-71 and U-2 programs.Getting to wrench on the SR-71 was an honor for me, i was only 19- 20yrs old and wrenching on the fastest jet ever made....It was truly remarkable and an experience most never get at such a young age.I got to go on many air refueling missions also while over there....Very cool !

The other image on the "Russian" side of the mask is a Fortress from his city which is ~400 years old. His town was @ war and it was used to protect his people. It has been restored b/c they lost part of it and all that was left was a piece of the wall.

http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/p...l/32653519.jpg

Bobs mask looks great - I am @ work with a guy who lived in the same city and who is much older. He is telling me great things about Bobs.

How he raised the junoir team of the city from LAST place to the FINAL the year after he got there... they lost the final b/c he was needed by the KHL team and coouldn't play the game.

He is one of the well regarded young gaolies in Russia today!

Jesus talking to this guy @ work is getting me excited!

YEAAA~!

Awesome mask ... in my top 3 easily. Russian fighter seems to be a Su-35 Flanker, main challenger for F/A 18E Super Hornet.

Thanks for the link. I always thought this was a great anthem regardless of politics.

I'm starting to like his mask idea of Russian and American "flyers". Not bad.

Now go stop the puck!

Is that an F-15 on the right side? I kind of like the whole East-Meets-West theme.

Lmao! You are right... Reading the debate that rages on AFTER I post the answer. And my knowledge comes ONLY from educated guesses! So you know!

OT - heard that Bo is very happy that the Flyers are giving him a chance, unlike Wild w Khudobin. Flyers, a traditionally stereotypical "anti-Russian" team is showing that they only care about hockey. Duh! Anyway, I will make a prediction - Bo is No.1 by late January.

One way or another, he will be...it just might be #1 on the Phantoms.

I think he's going to secure the starter role by December, or wind up going down to the A so he can actually get a starter's workload. No way should he be stuck as the backup on this team for more than a month or so.

Oops... He is the starter in the season opener. Now, the correct question should now be" "Will he relinquish that spot?"
