ah, now it all makes sense. FLA decides not to sign Gudbranson because they were making salary space for Darcy Hordichuk.

good for hordichuk for finding a place on an nhl team instead of playing in the minors. another good move for mike gillis to make.

I wonder if it's better to have a guy who actually knows he's garbage as opposed to a guy who thinks he can be a regular 4th liner.

This trade will pay dividends in the playoffs..too bad Buff wasen't a Blackhawk... Peters can be used to throw goalies of there game, disrupt the "D", star players, etc..

Another important consideration in having a guy like Peters - he'll be there to protect our star prospects on the Moose.
Perhaps a guy (I'm thinking a Matt Cooke type) will think twice about taking a run at Hodgson when you have a loose cannon like Peters on the bench.

Well the Sedin-Sedin-Brookbank line was effective!

Nice job, and a good show of respect to Hordi...should bode well amongst the team and future acquisitions.

Yes, it was good for Hordi this thing, he should be grateful. I hope he sees this as a new start.

Is that supposed to be a positive?
Big nothing burger here, would be surprised if he sees 3 shifts in the playoffs. Can't park in front of a goalie you're not fast enough to get to before play goes the other way...

Haha no question! Much more of a deterrent than Hordi!

I'd also settle for him doing this to Kiprusoff

Per Jason Botchford's tweet:
Peters quote in July "1 guy told me I was the worst player in the NHL. I said that may be true, but I'm the worst player in the best league" http://twitter.com/BotchonCanucks/status/26571283975

Even if he can be called up without re-entry waivers, I don't know why anyone would want him on an NHL roster. Terrible at everything.

In what universe is Andrew Peters going to play in the playoffs and park in front of the other team's goaltender?
He's a pure enforcer, and he does the job better than Hordichuk. His declining GP and relatively consistent FM numbers are an indication that he knows his job and has no objection to doing it even if he's not getting into the lineup a lot. He's a guy the Canucks can call up if they need some muscle, and has shown that he's willing to be that muscle even if that's his only role on the team.

If Peters sees ice in the playoffs, either things have gone very crazy and they're expecting nothing but fights, or things have gone
very wrong.
In his 9 year pro career, all but 3 seasons of which his team has made the playoffs, he has played 3 playoff games. In the AHL. He had 24PIMs and 0 points.

A lot of Florida fans seem oddly excited that they're getting Hordichuk back. I'm not sure whether I should burst their bubble or not.

None that I know of - it wasn't my idea - I was responding to someone else.
This is a nothing burger from what I can see...let's get the season started already!

If you were a fan of the Panthers this might be one of the more exciting developments - along with the waiving of Grabner.

Yeah, I miss having SOB too, but having the worst player is some consolation.
