Now we have the worst player in the league and the Art Ross winner.

Given how our past trades with Florida have worked out in the past, Peters will score 55 goals, and Hordichuk will accidentally end a teammate's career.

Peters has terrible golf swing mechanics - duffer.

He should consider taking up baseball and he could work with Keith Ballard on that:

He's well-loved in the locker room.

He's beyond horrendous on the ice.

Good, with him in Manitoba and recall-exempt, we've got a heavyweight that AV basically has to ask for permission from Gillis to use. No more dressing a goon when the scariest guy on the other team is Stortini.

True. At the very least we have the best player last year and the worst player last year.

There is always a point in having a goon, as long as it is a two way contract of course.

That says 'waivers' not 're-entry waivers'. Two different concepts.

If someone wants to claim him, they're welcome to take his salary.

Gillis did an interview yesterday where he hinted at this. I think it is on CDC under canuckstv.

He basically said he sent SOB to nash because he didnt want people to think he lets NHL players rot in the minors. The reporter then asked him about Hordi going to the moose and he said something like 'we're trying to find a place for hordi, we aren't going down that road yet' or some such.

Good on Gillis imo. I dont think he has much intention of using this new guy though.

Florida has done us a lot of favors. When we win the cup (with Peters it's just a technicality at this point to even play) we should have them engraved as a player entity or subscript.

Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin ... Andrew Alberts, Florida Panthers

Hordichuk appreciative Canucks were able to make the trade:

“At this time of the year it's often tough make a trade, especially with the cap and me on a one-way. This is definitely an opportunity for me to show why I have been in this league for a while. They have a lot of young guys out there and I think it is a great situation for me.”

Peters is an awful, awful hockey player. Maybe worse than Boogaard. Hopefully he never plays a game here.

Good trade because it saves the club Hordichuk's salary and gives Darcy another chance to stay in the NHL ... looks good on us as an organization.

If you think your Canucks made this trade with the thought of having him part of the 20 active players anytime soon....wow.

If you thought Grabner wasn't going to be claimed on waivers or that Yanick Perreault was a good 4th line C heading into training camp.... wow.

Yanic Perreault hasn't played in years... you mean Joel? Surely someone thought he was a good 4th line C, he did get a one-way deal from the Canucks.

Anyway. Good to see Hordi giving Gillis a nod for making a move for him. Looks good on us as a team.

Ya, I'm aware of the difference between waivers & re-entry waivers.

The point is that he has already gone through waivers to get sent down, so to recall him - he'd have to go through re-entry waivers - which is what the question to Murphy was.

Can Parent be recalled without passing through waivers? Peters?

Unless I'm absolutely missing something.

Can anyone shed light on this?
