Are you saying that as if it's a good thing or bad thing?

I would not mind him on re-entry waivers. At $2.7 thats not a bad deal at all. He's aging and injury proned but he can still shoot the puck and that'd be a very nice addition to the PP.

How does this work regarding waivers and a player that hasn't been assigned to the minors.

The re-entry waivers, is that specifically for assigned players?

The Rangers have 30 days to assign them. If they get assigned they would have to go through reentry waivers to get back to the big club.

I don't think he makes it that far on re-entry waivers. There's quite a few teams lower than us who could go for Souray at $2.7MM.

Seriously what does Gross know? Yesterday,he wrote the Rangers were not going in Souray's direction. Make up your mind.

Souray to Hershey on loan. No commitment made as to how long he'll be there.

Why wouldn't let Souray rot in Hershey? He is not on their AHL team. If Souray sulks and acts like a dick,he's on Washington's AHL team.

Interesting that Washington did not have room for Nylander but they took on Souray. Nylander was loaned to Rochester.

White goes down for sure if Souray comes in. Then what? Eminger or Gilroy? They could send Gilroy down I believe without waivers. That's 2.3+ 1.7 million down so they actually lower the cap believe it or not.

I really hope if he goes on re-entry and the Rangers get him that Rozsival is tradeable next yr because I want McD and Valentenko on the team.

I imagine Washington will take a look at him if he's on loan to Hershey

Intriguing #Caps give #Oilers a home for Souray on they're AHL team. Could Caps have interest in taking heat off of Green down the road?

I'd rather have Gilroy. I want to give this kid another shot. He looked more confident and comfortable in the preseason even if it's just exhibition games. Get Eminger the hell out of here.

Yup, re-entry waivers is when you're getting called back up from the minors. You can't go on re-entry if you haven't been sent down even if you have cleared regular waivers.

I don't know. If he still has that shot our PP could be something very scary. With Gaborik, Frolov, Del Zotto, Souray we may probably have one of the if not the best unit on paper.

Oilers send Sheldon Souray to Hershey (AHL), meaning the D-man and half his $5.4M cap hit should be available on re-call waivers soon.

i would take sheldon souray at half price no problem.

his shot is a weapon and he needs a change of scenery. having him at the point on our pp would be very nice.

however, unless rozy or gilroy are going the other way, cant see it working out.

They could, but apparently they'd rather just get rid of him, or maybe they are doing him a favor so he can still be in the NHL. Who knows.

Unlike the Rangers Oilers care about cap space less than that for 2.7 million they may save.

How could either go the other way? This wouldn't be a trade.

so for the record are they keeping White on the team?

if so why? When Drury comes back it's inevitable the guy goes down. I guess they have a few days to decide but may as well keep him off the cap now and just let Kennedy spare

It's more than a few days. Ask Voros about that.

true, i guess i am saying that he would clear. unless we move one of those 2 clowns, i wouldnt want to add sourays salary.

we would need to create some cap space and open a roster spot.

i dont want to see sauer bumped out.

The Devils apparently going with a 20 man roster--11 forwards, 7 d-men, 2 goalies. I'm not sure they have enough cap space to sign Adam Mair to the league minimum so they can fill out 4 lines. Their top 9 are going to get a lot of ice time and some of their d'men are a bit green.

Rolston, Arnott, Langenbrunner, Zubrus, Elias, White and Brodeur have a lot of miles on them--lot of their players on the wrong side of 30.

Lets just hope the rest of their offense struggles so they're forced to break up their top line of Parise - Zajac - Kovalchuk
