I was thinking the same thing...but to be honest I would rather play the one-trick pony, then have them spread it out.

Let's put out a line of Boogy-Boyle-Prust or Boogy-Prust-Avery against them just to bang them up hard

White's gonna get smoked. who will he play on a line with?? i really don't like the fact that he's still on this team, but if there's really some sort of background thing going on that we can't see and he's involved, then shoot, that's fine with me. get him out of here as soon as Drury returns.

Out of 20 Devils players 9 are in their 30's.

Brodeur is 38 with 2 more years at 5.2 mil Rolston (2 years at 5 mil + per) and Hedberg are 37 Arnott is 36 Langenbrunner is 35 Elias is 34 (3 more years at 6 mil per) White is 33 and has 2 more years at 3 mil per Zubrus is 32 with 3 more years at almost 4 mil per Tallinder is 31 and signed for 4 years.

This is an old team. They might get out of the gate fast but they're going to have to stay away from injuries and you have to think that over the course of the season there is a good chance they're going to run out of gas. It's going to be hard for them as currently constructed to roll lines and some of those old war horses are going to have to suck it up night in and night out.

What they really need is for someone to take Rolston and Zubrus off their hands and fill out to a full lineup with more younger players. Their two youngest forwards are 25--Zajac and the very unskilled Letourneau Leblond.

Yeah, but the point I was making really wasn't anything other than an NHL caliber 3rd or 4th liner on most teams for a measly $550,000.00

I thought for sure a floor team (Isles, CBJ, etc...) would've loved a contract like this. I get that he's not a big deal, and less of a big deal to the Rangers, but I figured someone would've bitten.

If I'm Kennedy, I'm having a real bad day today.

Well, he turned down Buffalo's 800K offer and started all the bad blood, so its primarily his fault in the first place.

I don't like the attitude that you're supposed to be loyal to the team but they can drop you if you have a signed contract.

I don't follow football anymore but I heard that there was a case in the past few days where a team decided that they didn't want a player at the salary that they signed him to so they cut him and expected him to sign a new contract for less money. If the player suddenly wants to renegotiate because he had a good year he's a villain but the team is allowed to void his contract and try to force him to take less? Complete double standard - and why can't the Rangers do that with Redden & Drury?

Football contracts are not the same as NHL contracts.

The Giants signed a linebacker a few years back, 7 years 49 mil, but he inured himself halfway through the year and they cut his whole contract. After they won the super Bowl, Burres held out for a better contract even though he was currently signed. Same with Revis for the Pontoon Planes.

In the NFL, your contract can change really according to demands/performance.

The NHL system is much more accountable and precise. The Sabres actually had to buy out Kennedy's contract.

I might be proven wrong in the next day or so but there's something wrong with the situation.

Why would Edmonton send Souray to someone else's farm team if they were planning on recalling him? They would have to go through all the paperwork and communication with the Bears and Caps to do this, whereas if they just sent him to OKC there would be far less bother.

I don't think he's getting recalled.

a few reasons

1. In Hershey he gets better exposure to east coast teams. The caps minor league team is a really good team too so it stands to reason that Souray has an opportunity to show his wares.

2. Cutting bait on the guy, do you really want him in your minor system ? The potential for bad blood and all...

Redden's situation is different than Sheldon's IMO.

yeah, but it's a lot different in hockey the contracts are guaranteed. And it's structured so you have to pay your dues to get a good contract.

Boogy-Boyle-Prust or Avery-Boyle-Prust works better, if we're gonna scratch anyone it better be Boogy.

I meant they're not going to do it right away. The idea that's been floating around is that they assigned him in order to recall him and put him on reentry. If that was their intention, Hershey doesn't make sense. I think they're going to leave him there for quite a while.

Wow i thought Kennedy was one of the better players on the ice every game the Rangers played. I dont understand how you dont keep him after the solid performance he displayed. I might know where they are coming from in the sense they think that they have enough Kennedy's but i really think he should atleast be the 13th forwards. Pathetic Ranger move once again.

Really?

He's little and scrappy so people like that, but as far as results, I didn't see much from him.

Kennedy didn't look great but he has youth and potential.

White has neither.
