I'm with the group that HATES the alternative logo. So freaking lame. In a city full of graphic designers, and artists, that's what the team comes up with? I'd also like to see some more of the Forum blue and gold, and am glad they are donning the purple lids, gloves and pants this time around. It was almost embarrassing last time they went with the retro jerseys, with black pants, gloves and lids. Made us look like a cheap bargain basement organization.

Oh God.. that was horrendous. Seriously, why bother with the jerseys if you aren't going to do the whole uniform. Total bush league!
Greene won't be playing opening night. If he's breaking in those gloves, it must mean we're going see to the vintage uniforms more then once.

I'm almost positive they are wearing them opening night in Vancouver. I remember reading that earlier in the summer.
A note on the first game. Plans have been in place, for a while, for the Kings and Canucks to play the season opener against each other. This will be the 40th anniversary of the Canucks’ inclusion into the NHL, and the Canucks’ first regular-season NHL game was against the Kings, on Oct. 9, 1970. The Kings won 3-1. In this year’s season opener, the Kings are planning to wear “vintage” uniforms, similar to the ones they wore in that 1970 game. If you click this link, the jerseys look very similar to the first purple jersey shown (No. 29). I’m not aware of exactly how many times the Kings will wear those jerseys next season. I’ve heard it might be three or four times.
I knew that they were wearing them opening night. I just found it odd that the article made it seem in doubt.

Some of you guys are hilarious with your complaints. How old are you guys? Lets live in the now, not the past. I know there were legendary teams in the 70's that won all of jack **** but I like the organization going in a different direction while still maintaining some of the tradition of the past.
I know some old dude is going to come in here and tell me about how great it was when old whats his name would skate up the ice sideways and there were 6 people at the Forum but really, those days are over. Move on!
The Kings want to sell gear and the kids like the new ****. Might as well learn to like it.

Love those freakin' uni's! Outstanding! The stripe down the pants is great, as are the two tone gloves and Quick's pads. I hope they wear these a ton.
I'm personally bored with every sports franchise trying to work a black jersey into their uniform scheme to try to appease the knuckleheads out there. You don't see quality franchises in any sport change their uniforms like all the pretenders out there who are trying to boosts jersey sales by changing them all the time.
I'd rather see the Forum blue and gold as our primary colors, and the old Gretzky era jerseys as our thirds. Get rid of the home plate logo (which is even worse than the Buffaslug) put back on that ripped off Chevy logo (Gretzky era only), and finally get rid of our boring Anschutz era uni's.
