If we flood them, who knows what could happen? This is much more productive than sending Rory Fitzpatrick to the All Star Game.
Flood em' with texts if you want, but trust me: Speaking as a person that has been in radio for 10 years... complaint texts/emails to the station will not get anyone fired.

If anything, it will be confirmation that people are listening...and that Pratt is doing his job.

I figure Thursday. Asked Botch for this thoughts and he seemed to think there was no rush, but I'm guessing they'll want it done Thursday just to get it out of the way.

At this point I liked Tambellini more but for that low a risk on a two way deal he knows the risk. Hopefully he plays the part that is needed of him. Hodgson being sent down will further continue the trade vs keep debate.

^I thought Tambellini had a solid camp, but AV and MG seemed to want to try Torres on the 2nd line. Tambellini has good effort, but I think he is miscast in a bottom six role whereas a player like Schaefer is perfect for that.

Schaefer to sign this afternoon, according to the Province: http://communities.canada.com/thepro...-thursday.aspx

Quote:
Schaefer will sign a two-way, one-year deal that pays him $600,000 in the NHL, smack-dab between what Rick Rypien earns ($575,000) and what Tanner Glass gets paid ($625,000). Schaefer's AHL paycheque would be $105,000, a figure at which he can be recalled without having to clear waivers.
Good signing. Welcome back to the NHL, Schaef!

I was on the Schaefer "bandwagon" after his first pre-season game.

I'm sure he's very appreciative of this opportunity - most players don't get a 2nd chance.

Tambellini is simply just too small.

Schaefer is a great signing in my opinion; we got lucky with this guy I think. He was just a victim of that contract previously and the cap subsequently, but I don't think he ever stopped being a NHL level player. I'm hoping to see a PK unit of Malhotra-Schaefer tried out at some point. I think he'll only get better as he gets back into the swing of regular season hockey.

People really do hate to admit it. I hate to admit he outplayed Oreskavich as well. One of the trends I noticed listening to AV discuss all his roster decisions is that he clearly wants players who are constantly striving to improve, and actually improving. I think a lot of his decisions were based on how guys improved over the course of the pre-season. Given that Shcaefer and Hodgson are both still here, and both continued to improve through the course of pre-season it helps explain things.

Roughly the same size, but I'd say Schaefer is just a stronger player. Tambellini doesn't have the muscle to win puck battles.

Tambellini is NOT 5'11 186

I don't care what any website says. I saw him in the summer. We have the same friends.

I dunno if Mitchell will want to waste his one big hit of the season on opening night.

Hope he plays well as good guy. He had a really tough preseason and looked both slow and tentative.

I thought he looked physically nowhere close to the NHL level during training camp. I know he had a long layoff from hockey but is the payoff going to be worth the wait while he gets back into game shape? Morrison would have been much better than Schaefer from what they showed in the preseason. I guess Morrison may not have been an option though once Calgary came calling. Too bad.

Two-way deal though - that's something Morrison likely wouldn't have accepted.

Pretty low liklihood that BMo would get sent to the Moose, or clear waivers if he did, though. PS on the other hand might need some time in the minors to get his legs back at some point.
