Come onnnnnnn... I hate having to stay up waiting for these games. Can't you guys play afternoon games all the time? Think of the European market. I have an evalutation meeting with my boss at 9 am tomorrow, I really shouldn't be staying up until close to 4 am, but I won't miss the first game of the season.
On a brighter note, happy birthday to Dana (I suppose that was her in the let's go flyers clip, she was adorable of course).
The offseason has been too quiet. I need the stress the Flyers give me. WOO! GAME 1 of the season!!! get pumpeeddd
Last season, as much as I loved living through it, was bad for my heart. I wouldn't mind a little safer play and a more clear cut route to the Stanley Cup final this time around.

I agree. #1 seed or #4 would be beneficial. More consistent play, less getting scored on within a minute of scoring themselves, and a more controlled presence in their own zone (less running around) would do your heart wonders, I think.

That, and if Bobrovsky is somehow already able to hold his own on this level would do wonders.
The Boosh/Leighton tandem reminds me of a couple of goalies we had on a team I played on. One of them, every shot was a danger, because he could let in goals from the opposition blue line without a doubt. He could also be pretty incredible and not let in a goal for ten games straight. This is Boosh. The other one, you knew he saved the first shot, but, you also knew he'd not hold onto the puck, and that the rebound could end up anywhere. This is Leighton.
As a stay at home defender who relied more on my positioning than my skating abilities, I've never skated so much all over the ice as that season, trying desperately to negate any shooting lane possible instead of just making sure that they had to take as bad a shot as possible.
Having Sergei start the game tonight certainly adds somehing and gets me even a little more excited to wath he game. Hat being said, I link it's a mistake. Bob didn't drastically outplay Boucher, which is what should have been necessary for him to get he startig nod tonight.

Boucher deserved to get the opening night start.
As hard as it as to NOT be excited about bob in net, I completely agree.
Real tough start for him w/o prongs and against malkin and crosby
It wasn't so far, I've been waiting my Flyers games to the early morning. And it's gonna stay so. My birthmate Gagne left, but FLYERS ARE FOREVER and now with more excpirience and quite hard hiters. LETS GO FLYERS. PHILLIES. EAGLES.
