3 Bold Predictions

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=824011

I was over on the Kings board and saw this thread that I thought was kinda fun so I decided to do one here for the panthers.

1) Booth scores 30+ goals and 60+ points.
2) Kulikov scores 10+ goals and 35+ points
3) Vokoun leads the league in blocked shots.

1) Grabner nets 15+
2) We regret letting go of him
3) I dare say Olesz plays just as terribly as last season.

1. Panthers suck, but not enough to get a good pick.
2. We get lots of injuries.
3. We trade/lose important players or prospects.

Oh wait..those aren't bold. We do that every year

I was going to say, that's what the Panthers have been doing for the past 10 years.

Anyways:
1) Frolik, scores over 60 points this year
2) Matthias becomes a solid #2 center
3) We stay relatively healthy and barely miss the playoffs.

I'll go even bolder:

1) Booth gets 40+ goals.
2) Gudbranson is a Calder finalist
3) Panthers make playoffs

1- Horton and Ballard go the All Star game
2- Vokoun traded to a team as bad as ours
3- Olesz and Weiss fight this time in the middle of an actual game

Number 3 would be awesome as Vokoun would have to be a skater to do it

1) We wave Olesz by the end of october
2) We trade Vokoun for a prospect and 2nd rounder
3) We miss the playoffs

And I had all the optimism this summer and the Grabner move just made me feel like the good ol panthers are back

While Grabner might not pan out I just don't get it not giving him a chance. All this BS you have to earn your spot is BS because Olesz is still here

1.Mike Keenan replaces DeBoer as Head Coach
2.Mike Keenan replaces Tallon as GM
3.Mike Keenan replaces Moller as radio voice of the Panthers while behind the bench and replaces Lindsay on Color Commentary on TV during Power Plays as he will have extra time since they are so unimportant that you don't even have to practice them.

Fans at the BAC start a mock chant geared towards olesz that goes like this..

BLOWWWLESZ ... BLOWWWLESZ ... BLOWWWLESZ

I can hear it already..

Then we run him out of town with flaming pitchforks.

My bold predictions for this year:

1. A play involving a Panthers player will not be nominated as "Hockey blooper of the year."

2. Vokoun does not commit seppuku when the Panthers fail to trade him to a contender at the deadline.

3. There will be at least one game this season where the action on the ice will be more entertaining than reading the wails of despair on these forums.

1. Vokoun, along with the whole team has a terrible start to the season, we'll average less than two goals a game for the month of October.

2. All of our players score exactly as many points as we expected, with only Booth and Weiss getting over 50 points.

3. We go on a ridiculous run in January and February but fall apart just in time for the playoffs.

Wait are these predictions or stories from the last 3 seasons?

1. Pete DeBoer doesn't last the whole entire year.
2. One of our players will collide with another one of our players resulting in an injury. Hopefully that player won't be Booth because it just might end his career, if such a collision were to happen.
3. Rostislav NOlesz doesn't last the whole year with the team either. Yormark will see the happiness in the fans faces once he leaves, and he'll throw some more confetti on the ice, for no reason.

1. Agreed (I'd go even bolder and say doesnt last past Christmas)
2. I'd actually say just "a play" as it could be another one of those "Seidenberg slapshots a puck into Horton" type of plays.
3. Having NOlesz off the team would be reason enough to throw confetti but I cant see how he doesnt stick around all season because no one wants him and the org doesnt want to pay him to play in the minors.

Well, you're already out...

My bold predictions:
1) The team works hard but can't score goals as there are only three offensive threats and they're hardly superstars.
2) The team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs by the end of February
3) Tallon will be busy around the trade deadline

Time horizon was never specified in OP.

1. Olesz scores 3 goals in the first 5 games, then 3 over the next 77.
2. Our PP improves over years past due to right-handed dmen, top 10 in league.
3. We end up with the 4th pick in the draft, missing out on Larson, Couter and RNH

Here's mine!

1) Frolik Scores 35 goals/30 assissts, while replacing Horton on the top line and makes losing him redundant.

2)Panthers become top 5 team in both PP & PK with the additions of Wideman to the PP and Higgins to the PK.

3)Vokoun gets traded at deadline to Philly for a young scoring forward named JVR, a Defensive prospect and their 2011 1st round pick.

4)Markstrom takes the helm after Tvo being traded and the Panthers become the feel good story of the season, ala the '96 team and make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Oh, wait it's only suppose to be 3 predictions. Forget that last one.

1. Vokoun will score more goals than Grabner.

2. Ballard will not go all yoda on Luongo.

3. One of the Panthers, probably Hordichuk, will actually fight Richards and put him in the hospital.

1. Frolik is the only player on the team with 40+ points (Booth gets hurt again)

2. Attendance in the hundreds per game come February

3. DeBoer fired before January.

1. Frolik score 30+ goals
2. Booth plays all 82 games (atleast 80)
3. Weiss 70 points (+), and gets named new captain after McCabe gets dealt at the deadline.
