Speaking of power punchers....macintyre absolutly dismantled ivanams last night in the battle for Alberta. Could be a new west coast champ

Yeah Purinton was a lunatic. He spent like 1/4 of his professional career suspended.

He wasn't a very good hockey player, but he sure as hell protected his teammates. Pretty sure he was universally reviled by other teams because he was dirty as hell. He threw sucker punches, gauged eyes, pulled hair, punched guys down on the ice. He didn't care.

Saw that...Macintyre was once our property...would love to see him dance with Boogey.

In retrospect, now Orr since the dumb Brashear contract and now Boogards contract. However, I didn't want any of them. Rather have a gritty player who can skate, score, and put up a fight if need be rather than someone, who's primary job is to be the enforcer.

In a fight I say Boo wins but the issue is, who is going to really fight him.

In regards to who I would rather have as an enforcer.

...I'll reserve judgement to see what transpires this season. More specifically in regards to how many time Lundqvist gets run, Gaborik gets toyed with, and the Captain gets KO'd via cheapshot w/out retaliation!

If none of that happens then Boogey is worth every Penny.

They went at it a couple of seasons ago...

I'm probably in the minority, but I prefer fights like this one, where the fighters demonstrate they know how to defend themselves instead of just going toe-to-toe.

He sure was. The look on his face when he was beating someone down was always classic. Also, he had no problem taking liberties in the dirty department. A serious mental case, but I loved his game.

Voted for Boogey, but loved Orr in a Ranger sweater. You knew he was coming to play/fight every night.

I voted for Boogaard but it depends on the context of the question.

Better fighter - Boogard.
Better player - Orr

Personally I would have rather have just held onto Orr than deal with the whole enforcer musical chairs act of the last 12 months.

I would have kept Orr as well, he's really come into this role in Toronto and has added that meanness of spirit that he always lacked in NY. And man is he ever disciplined when he needs to be. But he wanted the ice time and the chance to play in Toronto so I wish him luck.

I would have loved Brashear circa 2004 but it's a hard job and when these guys lose that desire it's all over very quickly.

I am glad we got Boogaard and am looking forward to the first game where things get out of hand and he earns his money - might be tomorrow against the Isles and almost certainly will be against the Leafs Friday.

If (WHEN) Orr - Boogaard go, I'm looking forward to a good tilt and hoping neither lands a big blow and does any real damage.
