Now i think he really havent good wingman... Must be fun for miettens but i hate the fact they will keep that line again an year.. miettinen is only as good as he is because of Koivu. The whole team would became better with offensively skilled winger with some sniping skills to play with Koivu.
Preaching to the choir my friend. This fan base loathes Mittens and now that Sheppard is going to be out for the majority of the year, it's only going to get worse. Miettinen is a decent enough third line player, but he has no business on a top line in the NHL.

Who wins in a face-off between Benny and Shep staring off into their own world?

They played better than yesterday, but they lack scoring punch.

Is there room in wilds salary cap? Are they going to do anything about their offensive presents.. or are they just waiting for Granlund. I dont see it wise to just trust on one card even if the name of the card is Granlund. He sure is great, but still. And he is more of a playmaker than a sniper, thought he has a great shot and can score too.

U need other good looking finnish prospect, Joel "Getzlaf" Armia. He is like 194cm tall and heavy&strong allready, 17yrs old, able for draft next year. He just played five games in elite league now with five points and is starting to became the possible next big promise. You must tell about him to your stupid coach!

At least they got a point today. If Havlat was a goal scorer he would have won us this game. Oh well, at least the effort is there for Havlat right now, lets hope it doesn't wear off in the first 5 games again.

Barker had a solid first period, but still looks like nothing more than a 3rd pairing/PP specialist to me. And he's our 3rd best PP d-man at that. Burns looked better too, but still isn't near the puck handler that a #1 has to be leading the breakout.

We could have won this game 1-0 if John Madden knew how to be a bottom-6 forward. You know, he's only been one his WHOLE 10 year, 793 game career. First of all, in the first, why the hell is he playing around with the puck outside the offensive blueline. Shoot the puck in, there's a reason BOTH your wingers went flying into the offensive zone. Then on the goal, why the ***** is he passing to a covered Clayton Stoner, our worst player who is struggling mightily and on his off-side. Your on a checking line John, just like the last 10 years. The smart play dumping the puck to the corner, and competing for it there. We should give him the Sykora treatment if this keeps up, because its unacceptable.

twelve hours later...

any one else notice skinner bumping backstrom just out of the way of ruutu's shot?

nice little play by skinner however... skinner was in the blue paint affecting the goalies ability to make the save.

nice play by skinner.

Good game overall. Wild created more chances, but the shots were too soft to get behind Ward.

I don´t want to repeat an old song and bash my countryman, but Antti Miettinen´s place is not in the first two lines. He works hard and plays for the team, but his skill set is not enough for the role he is given. Almost the same can be said about Brunette. Koivu´s line yearns for a goal scorer.

Another player that caught my eye in a negative way is Havlat. What has happened to him?

To all Wild fans that were in Finland: welcome back! I hope that you enjoyed your visit.

Yeah he sorta shoved him, but I didn't really care cause I don't have high expectation anymore.

Don't take this as me hollering about a "missed penalty" which should have invalidated the goal...

Backstrom was solid and in position, Skinner came into the blue paint and gave him a pretty hard nudge. If you look at the replays, Ruutu's shot would have hit Backstrom in the chest, had Skinner not been in the blue paint, giving him that subtle check.

As I said, very good play by Skinner. Good awareness. You could see that he was spotting the refs as he was on his way to the crease, too.

LOL
