I love the guy, but DZ's mistakes were horrible.

The PP looked alright at times.

Entertaining game. Too bad the refs weren't consistent.

Agreed. But at that point, it seems like momentum took over for the Fishsticks.

One game, but it's against the Islanders, and it happens too often.

This is just retarted! Blaming the refs on this one is the pathetic part! At least for the third period.

Got home and realized that this was an early game (here in Europe) but the last period, after Anisimov's goal.. Pff... We can blame ourselves! Before the 4-3 goal we had momentum, controlled everything on the ice. After the goal it all got lost! I don't know whether it was the fear of loosing it or just trying to steer it out the game.. Either way.. EPIC FAIL!

Lucky bounce on the 4-4 goal though, that puck could have ended up anywhere. When that's said, the refs did not make this game. Our mentality did!

GUTTED BIGTIME!

As usual the referees are the scapegoat whenever we're beaten by an AHL caliber team like this.
Even disregarding the dumb penalties, the Rangers were outworked in every area of the game, and Lundqvist's performance was mediocre at best.
Embarrassing.

And maybe I'm paranoid but Gaborik is starting to worry me already.
He's not getting the scoring chances that he should be and it's reminding me a lot of the way he looked after the Olympics last season.

The defense was awful today. I have to say that was probabyl mdz's worst game as a pro.

i thought cally's penalty was a terrible call.

frolov and gaborik need to wake the **** up.

They didn't play well, thing I was upset about was not killing off the rest of the penalty. It wouldn't have been so bad had we gotten a point out of the game. You can't have a lead with less than 5 minutes left and not get at least a point out of it.

how come no one talks about Del Zotto sloppy play? it looks that he is missing either peripheral vision or can't predict opposite player actions or just can't handle the puck. any of these will not be fixed any time soon! we need a stronger defense (in general), not this one.

Gabby not converting that penalty shot was really big. You can't miss opportunities like that when they're given to you.

Lundqvist is seriously making me think I should get used to a mediocre goaltender for this season.

Gaborik getting hooked while entering the zone while chasing a loose puck. Callahan taking a stick to the skate driving to the net drives him into the boards.

The Rangers going on the PP early in the 3rd could of changed the whole outcome.

Now I seriously don't want to go to class at 5pm.

Quit complaining about the refs. The 1st line is invisible. Hank was ordinary .MDZ & Rozy had a really bad game. Torts is clueless how to use Boogaard. Might as well not dress jim if he's going to play him for 1:34. outhustles & outworked -it'S going to happen.

Two games into the season already? He had just a bad of a start in '06.

Ok..so for the last few minutes, all I've heard are people blaming the refs. Now a bunch of people are saying to stop using the refs and that we killed ourselves.

Which one is it?

I can't wait to get home and watch this for myself.

Rozsival was our best defenseman today. Staal had a good game too until that boneheaded penalty. Sauer played fairly well too before he lost his check on the GW goal.

Eminger is just a non-entity and should be scratched going forward. Ironically, Girardi and Del Zotto scored goals but were trainwrecks on the other end of the ice.

We made stupid and lazy plays and we paid for it. Yeah, the refs made some awful calls in the 3rd, but it's not like we deserved to win this game. We should have killed this team, but instead, they played like they wanted to win, while we played like it was a preseason game.

When we miss the playoffs again, these are the kind of points we missed out on.

The third period is why this team needs Chris Drury.

I really feel the need to talk about this.

How can anyone deny the fact that the calls had a huge effect on the outcome?

I don't remember, but i'm pretty sure ALL of our PP's were warranted. Not only that, but when our PP is doing as good as it was, denying them the chance to play by no-calling Stepan getting punched in the throat alone effects the game. Then having our best PKer get a penalty for a ******** call greatly weakens our PK for the Powerplay the Islanders were handled.

Yes, we should've been better on even strength. Yes, we absolutely dominated them on the PP. Yes, the calls were ****ing ridiculous.

Do I think we lost fair and square? absolutely not.
