nope i'm going to keep complaining about the refs. if they arent gonna call that late hit on stepan, they have no business calling the penalty on callahan.

Hank needs to trade in his makeup and designer suit for goalie equipment.

You kind of feel like a sore loser when you put alot of blame on the refs for a loss... but their blatantly one-sided display of reffing in the 3rd would've made a bribed, blind donkey look competent.

Isles also had alot of puck bounces go their way tonight. Way too many. We honestly played like the better team tonight and that is said with a straight face.

Exactly what I was thinking. This team is awfully young and inexperienced right now.

To reiterate, this reminds me quite a bit of the later season loss to a disheveled Senators squad last season.

Lundqvist isn't going to get any better or worse by agonizing about him. He's the starter and will continue to be.

I'm interested to know the extent of Christensen's injury. If he is out for awhile then it may answer the question of where Drury slots in.

Was really hoping for a Gaborik goal today.

MDZ needs to play 3rd pairing, don;t know how many times it has to be said. Being on that pairing makes whoever he is with worse, be it Rozsival or Girardi.

Exactly. During the Buffalo game, I thought about that. I really hope he comes back Friday.

It's not just that. He's the teams best PKer (with Callahan). They had Prust killing penalties. Just let that sink in.

I come in peace. The Islanders were playing without Mark Streit, Kyle Okposo and John Tavares this afternoon. Add those three to the lineup, the Islanders are a decent team that would have a shot at the number 7 or 8 seed. Anyways, we'll meet again in December with a healthier lineup.

Del Zotto cost 2 goals today... Bottom line. Can't have that happening although you do expect a 20 yr old to have some bad moments.

Staal and Rozy were our best defensemen as usual.

Eminger was not that bad... I don't like him very much, but he wasn't that bad this game.

The stuff that these teams get away with on Avery is just a joke. If the Refs want him to get hurt, then they should just grab a stick and take a swing too.

We didn't need Drury to beat the Sabres and we sure as hell didn't need captain intangibles against an AHL team.

Yeah, it's hard to have a lot of confidence with the PK when this is the situation.

Blaming the refs is a very lame and poor excuse to use when a team loses, but it is definitely warranted today. Horrible, just horrible.

That AHL team just hung 6 on this team. Three on the PP.

Staal did take a pair of boneheaded penalties though.

I actually agree with you. I think that with your full lineup you have a decent team that can crack the PO's.
Do I think you can win a round? nope ( )

(I have this convo like 3 times a day, since I'm dating an Islander fan.. [I know, I know..I'm trying to convert her!])

Stop with the ref bashing and man up. The bottom line is the team took 2 bad penalties at a bad stage in the game, and they failed to beat a team without its 3 leading scorers. Like some one else said, these are the games you look back on at the end of the season.

Everyone relax. Granted you should never lose to Blake and the rest of the pIsles but we didn't deserve to win. Outside of Girardi, Staal and Sauer our d was pathetic. Hopefully the Eminger experiment is over.

Torts made a big miskate after the cross check/punch to Stepan. The Boogie man and the 4th line should have been sent out with instructions to put any pIsle player into the hospital. Gordon wouldn't have even allowed that to happen and probably would have sent out Konopka and/or Gilles out there. Either way it would have changed the momentum of the game.

Thankfully Roszival is still not shooting on the power play. No need to get the puck on net if you can pattycake it back and forth. Once again he's pissing me off.

Oh well I'm sure we will have Captain Intangibles back in the lineup on Friday and the world will once again be a better place. Can't wait!

Two of which were gift wrapped and delivered by the referee with the ******** call on Callahan.

No way can you cut this to say the Islanders legitimately deserved to win the game.

Oh. And when the fourth line is out there, they have to drop this tendency to play possession hockey. Just dump the puck deep and POUND their defensemen. Boogey man can put someone through the glass. Will have any defenseman playing timid or scared all night.

Just dump it and let all 3 of those guys tee off on the defensemen. Instead they keep trying to pass the puck up the ice and create great scoring chances.
