O'Byrne should be playing in Hamilton.
Spacek should make a good 7th def.
Picard should be the one in Hamilton.

Spacek played really well last game, and besides that McArthur goal, he was good against Toronto as well. Obyrne sucked hard though. He will be #7

I try to stay optimistic but Picard is just awful. Can't wait to see Markov and Hammer back in the line up

Best of luck to Picard but I just don't see him as even a #7 in the NHL. Would much prefer Leach.

Agreed. He also makes O'byrne look worse than he really is.

I hope this is true and I hope Markov is healthy and stays healthy for the rest of the season. He's a huge piece to the Habs puzzle and if we're going to do anything this season, we're going to need him on the blueline.

He completely changes the team when he's in the lineup....its pretty neat to see.

Replace O'byrne and Picard with Hamrlik and Markov and if Price keeps playing this way watch out.

This team is going to turn some heads. Going to need Gio and Gomer to get going too though which I think is just a matter of a few games.

Should be fun to watch this team with their #1 and #2 D back. Plus just imagine the puck movement on the PP with PK and Markov back there!

O'Byrne is actually a good D and when he wasn't being sabotaged by Picard he's been good

I agree, nothing dirty about the hit. But it wasn't a routine play either. Markov, for some crazy reason, turned into Cooke and moved further away from the boards thinking he can hit Cooke before he hit him. Had he stayed along the boards, nothing happens. Had he tried to dodge the hit, nothing happens. Being afraid that this sort of fluke play might happen again if like being afraid Markov might get his tendon cut again by Price's skate because it's routine for a defenseman to stay around the crease area.

For those wondering about Hamrlik, Pat Hickey seems to confirm that he's in on Wednesday:

This. Despite being on the radar for a number of years, O'Byrne is still developing as a defenseman in this league. A full year paired with a veteran and we'll start to see the potential that he has. He'll never have great offensive talent but I'd be satisfied to see a Hal Gill clone.

I think he's more of a Komisarek clone but faster. My ideal pairings would be:

General - O'b
Hammer/Spaceman- Primetime
Long Stick - Captain Kelowna

JM likes his vets though, so chances are once our D is healthy, O'byrne sits.

For those of you already penciling Spacek as the odd man out, or the seventh defenceman, once Markov and Hamrlik are back, don't let those two games fool you. It's only two games. May I remind you how useful Spacek was exactly for us in last playoff?

He's struggling, but having a hard time happens to every defenceman. Especially in the beginning of the season. I'm not a huge fan of Spaceman, but he is better than O'Byrne.

Markov - Spacek
Hamrlik - Subban

Should be the pairings. O'B odd man out, unfortunately for him but his time will come.
