He was a scratch in the last pre-season game and most likely is heading back to Bridgeport. With the emergence of Papineau,Bergenheim and even Weinhandl when he's healthy,Hunter most likely will be burried even more on the depth chart than last season.

He's a speedster and like to play physical. Very much in the mold of Jason Blake for the Isles but according to the reports from camp he's gota bit more bulk to his frame than Jason.

Not great offensively but very quick and agressive. A good trap player. (the Isles are playing a from of the trap this year).

I still think Bergenheim will eventually head back to Finland, but Hunter is at best going to be an injury call up to start the season. It looks like the best be would be Bergenheim and Papineau will start the season on the Island. Plus when both Weinhandl and Scatchard come back from injurys it will only complicate things.

The HF Bergenheim report from the Isles preseason update. Basicly what I said with a bit better spin on it,

Quote:
Sean Bergenheim: Bergenheim was drafted in the first round (22nd overall) by the New York Islanders in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He’s a pesky little center whose style of play has been compared to the likes of current Islander, Jason Blake. During the 2002-03 season, Bergenheim spent his time in Finland, playing for Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League. Jokerit is mainly a veteran team, and with limited playing time, Bergenheim tallied 3 goals, 3 assists and 6 points in 38 games played. What really stood out though was his impressive performance in the 2003 World Junior Championships, pulling in a 2 goals and 5 assists performance in only six games.
