Should the Hawks consider Greiss?

The Sharks put Greiss on waivers.

I like Corey Crawford, don't get me wrong... but if Greiss is available for a song, would he be worthy of at least considering?

If Hawks have chance we need to put claim in

Waive Crawford (No one will pick him up ,,, And if they do no big loss)

Turco - Greiss in NHL
Crawford - Toivonen in AHL

Greiss has alot more potential then Crawford

Grabbing Greiss couldn't hurt.

I can't say that I'm ready to waive Crawford though.

It's both or neither; no way can we carry three goaltenders on the roster.

I agree crawford has put in the time and effort and deserves his fair shot. But it would also be an awesome twist of irony if we got griess on waivers and proceeded to pummel the sharks with him after they grabbed niemi.

At which point does it stop going by last years standings and start using this years? With only 1 point, we can't be all that high on the list.

Wow. How does nobody not need a goalie who could be as decent as he could be?

I think this might be the case here. But the Hawks should have still claimed him, need more goalies in the pipeline.

we would have had the chance to claim him and then would have a good #3 that plays first in Rockford and in case of injury... he would have been a good backup

No kidding, maybe I'm wrong on this but couldn't we have just claimed him and sent him down through waivers again? We knew nobody was going to claim him at that point and there wouldn't have been any loss. Bowman dropped the ball big time on this one.

No, if we would have claimed him and put him on waivers again, then San Jose would have had the right to pick him up and send him to the AHL (without putting him on waivers again).

Then I guess the only real option would have been to pick up Greiss and waive Crawford, who would have most definitely made it to Rockford. Probably not worth the trouble.
