It's a shame for the guys that like to go on hockeyfights and pick a fight winner, but have an enforcer does little to win games.
Bottom line is Mair is a better hockey player than Leblond right now, and that's exactly what we need given our situation. When/if we get under the cap, maybe we'll have a spot for him.
Mair is better. And if we need a fighter for a game that "may" get out of hand, we can always call up Stoesz or Robitaille for our goonery.
if people start blaming 4th liners as reasons we're losing games consistently its time to take a step away
4th line isn't the reason they can't win a game. Not having a full 4th line is certainly a contributing factor, though. Honestly, it does help to have decent players on the 4th line. Guys who can play more than 3 or 4 minutes and can chip in with points or by drawing, not taking, penalties occasionally.
The main issue is that as a hockey player, Le Blond is useless, especially in the Devils current situation. At least Mair can play a little. He's an upgrade.
which is not 20. I just worry about this board getting unrealistic expectations for players. Happens all the time then the player becomes the new board scapegoat.
