Average daily cap hit.

The ACTUAL cap is a running tally of each player's daily wage. Save it now and you can spend it later, should you need or want to. You could acquire a player with $40,000+ daily cap hit towards the end of the season and keep him on the roster for 30 days with the difference you'd save on Kennedy instead of White over the course of 5 months, all other factors remaining constant.

Can anyone think of a player with a $40K-ish daily hit that might be a deadline target for the Rangers?

Yeah its really bad that we're carrying a 2.3 million dollar extra forward. Not only that, but he is a center, when we have an excess of those already. The more I think about it, the more this decision pisses me off.

Not carrying White might mean that we could get Richards without trading Rozsival.

I imagine that Kennedy is seriously second-guessing his decision to go to arbitration at this point.

Well we've lost Kennedy now. No way he doesn't get stolen via re-entry if we try to recall
