Eklund Prediction....Must See

Quote:
New Jersey: The Devils will make a trade VERY soon which will again look to be "not a Lamoriello type move." Despite the Devils success this season, Lou will leave the team and take the GM job with the NY Rangers next season as Sather moves up.

Lou HATES the Rangers. These have to be the stupidest sentences I've ever read from Eklund (and that's saying a lot). I also agree, don't click the link.

Honestly I would pass on Lou at this point. He's consistently shown in the last 5 years that he doesn't know how to build a team in the cap era.

I've heard a bunch of guys say they hate the Rangers and then lace up for them for the right price. Gomez and Holik among others. This won't happen though.

I do believe that the current roster situation is because of pressure from the ownership, but all in all Lou is not the GM he was 10 years ago.

They start handing out cups at te end of the regular season?
He's icing a team tonight of 16 players, that is HORRENDUS cap management. Look at the contracts he's handed out - zubrus, roloston, ect.
He's not the same GM he once was.

How is the Players Association not up in arms about that?

You say this as if Lou building more successful teams than Glen Sather is some sort of accomplishment.

Look at the bad contracts he's given out since the lockout. Look at how he has yet to find replacement production on defense that went missing once Nieds and Rafalski left. Look at how the best defensemen the team has developed in about 6-7 years is Alexander Urbom. Look at the fact that the Devils haven't gotten past the 2nd round since the lockout. Look at how many coaches the team has gone through with equally mediocre results.

And now look at the mess the Devils are in. The Devils are the ones spending large amounts of money on players and are having major issues while the Rangers have numerous players on the cusp of becoming core pieces of the team in the long run.

I think Lou knows that the Devils live and die with Marty and is desperate to win now while he's still playing.

Unless Lamoriello has plans on having 3 Hall of Famers fall in his lap in the next 18 months, the Rangers don't want him.

I have seen stranger things happen before, but this is one hell of a long shot.

I can't even imagine it to be honest.

Nobody hated the Rangers organization more than Glen Sather When he was brought in here to NY it was rumored he would use the Rangers money to sign FA's and then trade them to canadian teams. Thats how much this guy disliked NY. I'm pretty sure he's also the tool that stated "If I had the NY Rangers salary I could win the stanley cup every year"...or something to that effect.

That rumor is almost as laughable as the one starting this thread.

So Sather was going to sign someone for say, $9mil a season, and then trade them to a small market team? Great, and how does that work financially?

You should think this one over again. Maybe send it to Eklund if it still sounds like a plan to you.

Pretty sure Sather himself said he has no intentions of going anywhere and that he loved his job here...Isn't that correct?

Not for nothing ...Drury is probably one of the better defensive forwards we have. Great at blocking shots on great on the PK.

The way sather has been going the past year or so i dont really mind letting him continue molding this team. At least they seem to have a plan now.

I can only imagine what Dolan would pay to get Lou Lams to be his GM if Sather is stepping up....

Lous first signing could be Parise

If the ownership in NJ ever let this happen they might as well pack it in. I cant imagine a fanbase more ready to riot than the Debbies fans losing Lou and Zach to NYR... likely followed by Brodeurs retirement, if they havent already traded him to Montreal

Do you think Dolan even knows who Lou is?
