You know how it goes..

The player that sucked ass on his years here in Philadelphia has a one of the only few good games of career against us. I hate when that happens.

Leaving in a few minutes -- Go Gags, go Flyers. (and I know not all will agree, but go Downie, too)

Love the "as if" stuff....it's been a long summer without it. Keep em coming and I'll keep spreading the love. Game 2 of the year, I had no access to share my love with yallz and look what happened. I promise to do my part from now on...you keep doing yours.

Kudos on the Grilled Cheese and Beer post.

All things are looking good for this one. I better go check for Phil Collins....we need him too.

I seriously hope so, but I think MSE said it would probably be shown during a commercial.

It's likely that the tribute will take place during the first timeout -- after play has begun -- in the opening period. Whether that means the network will opt to show the full tribute in place of scheduled ads, I am not sure. I wouldn't be surprised if the network has to honor its sponsors with a brief break nor would I be shocked to see the video clip aired in its entirety.

I have 2 tickets for tonights game, and I'm stuck at work (in NYC) so no way I'm making it.

If anyone (presumably Philly based) thinks they can make it over there in time, you can have them for free. Just PM me. The seats are in section 124.

I wonder if Gags gets teary eyed. He seems pretty freaked out about having his TB home debut, then playing in Montreal and now coming back to Philly.

I'm new here, and was wondering does MSE always give a complete history in his GDTs?

Yeah, back in the 07/08 season I dreamed about having a line of Gagné-Richards-Downie as a line for years to come. Skill, great defense, boardwork and some insanity sprinkled in here and there. As a second line unit behind JvR-Carter-Giroux, that would have been awesome.

Carle has looked really good so far though. He has been really solid in his own end, which is promising.

I also cheer for him and try not to think too hard of how cool it would be if he was playing with the Flyers now. He totally got the shaft while he was here.

I was just thinking, there are at least 3 guys in recent memory from Scarborough, where I live, who played for Philly, Tocchet, Zezel and Downie.

Since you first posted the potential of a first timeout tribute, I assumed that the network would opt to show it during the first intermission, if at all.

It doesn't get any better either... almost all of the Flyers games are on VS or NHLN.... I wonder why I bothered paying $160 to not be able to watch them on TV....

Ugh, CSN just played part of an interview with Gagne and I'm on the verge of tears, you could hear the disappointment in his voice over the Flyers asking him to waive his no-trade clause. With that said though, the move had to be done, I just wish Homer would've spent the cap space a little wiser.

Due to the length of histories with certain longstanding rivals (NYR, NYI, Pittsburgh, etc.), I plan to post full accounts just once or twice during this season. For Western Conference teams and certain teams in the East (newer entries), I'll post the histories for each game.

Pretty much. We're so lucky - a history lesson, some wonderful (and not so wonderful) memories for some of us, and a great song at the end!
