I can't stand it. I am a fan of not having a bunch of people hanging on from behind with hooks and what not, but the obstruction that was in the game 10 years ago is gone. The refs just are dead set on finding any excuse to put their arms up some nights, it takes away from the quality of the game IMO. Half of the time people get called for hooks its b.c a player has his stick in the vicinity of a players mid section, half the time not doing anything but keeping his man in check

Don't see why people are griping about the penalties, we've earned what we've taken by being undisciplined.

Good news: Flyers have more chances.

Bad news: Every chance the Flyers give up is a quality one.

I wish the D was better at clearing and the forwards better at finishing. It could be 4-2 right now.

Damnit. We shouldn't be behind. This game shouldn't even be tied. We've dominated all game for crying out loud. And it's not even the defense. These guys need to find the back of the ****ing net. Ellis made some good stops on the short-handed rushes, but the PP has simply been atrocious.

Put the puck in the net and win this ****ing game!

Not complaining about the particular calls or anything, rather how annoying all of these 10-15 pp games are. It's not how hockey should be played imo

Sloppy second period. It's a good thing that TB is even worse (even though they lead), they only seem to create chances when we make stupid plays, we can at least create chances on our own. Giroux can be so dominant when we're shorthanded, he should really control the game more when on even strength.

i agree, just dont think half the calls need to be made, the one Pronger drew in the nuetral zone was weak, as was the one recently on Richards... just let them play if its borderline.

Eh I dunno, only one that was kind of gay was the Richards one. I mean, if Coburn is going to hook people as they go after rebounds, what do you expect?

Anyways, at this stage in the season, it's more about the performances. Considering that the Lightning are A) playing pretty well and B) actually pretty talented, I think as a team we've played well, much better than we have at other points.

If Boosh were competent and Ellis weren't playing pretty darn well, we'd be more comfortable. I've actually noticed Meszaros in a good way.

EDIT: The Hedman one on Pronger was also stupid.

I can't explain how refreshing the sounds of JJ's voice is on VS. Even Coatsey I don't mind hearing! Now we just need some goals..

Hey guys. I didnt read the thread but I know some of you were hoping to see the Gagne video tribute. Our beat writer posted it up. Not sure if its been posted yet but here ya go.

http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sp...o-simon-gagne/

Also its been a pretty good game so far even though theres not much flow with all the penalties on both sides. Heres to a good third.

This is how it is every year at the beginning... people just forget how sloppy the start of the year always is.

In other news:

1) I've never loathed Holmgren more than I do tonight.

2) Both TB goals came off just horrid turnovers.

If they don't call it now, then it is just plain ugly 5 months from now.

I'm just dissapointed in the way the game has gone tonight. As has been said, we have completly dominated puck possesion, but lets not kid ourselves, it's not like we have had 20 chances

thanks for posting that.

i now despise paul ****ing holmgren. i don't see any way he can redeem himself. even if the team gets a cup, its a ****ing disgrace if gagne isn't a part of it.
