Minute eater of the night?

Who else? Victor Hedman. 26:14. No points, even for the night. Played excellent.

Understatement.

And I think its only the beginning of the true Hedman. I thought he might get his first goal of the season tonight (he probably should have), but Id be surprised if he doesnt break through tomorrow against Boucher if he plays the same way.

For the first time, he has someone providing both defensive structure, and encouragement. He isn't punished when he makes a mistake, hes given the reins and told to play. He had just under 23 minutes against ATL, had a point, and now just over 26 minutes, excuse me, he was a plus-1 as he was on the ice for the GWG, hes using his size, using his reach, and using his smarts.

When Downie looks like the normal one and your coach looks insane, you're onto something.

take away the 3 weak/lucky goals and that was a fantastic game for the lighting......lots of shots, defence jumping into the rush(HEDMAN, YAAAA), and our offensive players produced.

Hopefully, we can see atleast 5-6 goals tonight against Boucher and Philly

Yeah, he was great! Just unreal how he stormed through the Habs' lines and into their zone. Only thing that worries me is his shot accuracy. A lot of those blasts went wide.

"I love the guy. He's outstanding," coach Guy Boucher said. "He's smart. He's reliable and pays the price."
Boucher on Malone.

Steven Stamkos called it "a dangerous hit" and asked the referees why Lapierre was not thrown out of the game. "He said if Downs would have been hurt, (Lapierre) would have gotten tossed," Stamkos said.
Stamkos on Lapierre's hit on Downie.

"I kind of looked at him, and Thomer flew in there, a great job by him," Downie said. "That's what a team needs. Good for Thomer sticking up for me. I love that, and he knows I'd do that for him."
Downie on Thompson sticking up for him.

I read a bit of it. I think the thing I found amusing was how they kept saying malone "only" got first star because he scored the GWG. Forget the fact he led both teams with a 3 point night. Is a Goal and 2 assists not worth first star?

We know that all three stars would have been wearing red if Malone hadn't scored that goal

its always a good laugh. Mtl fans are embarrasing to say the least. I am often ashamed to be amongst such moronic fans.

Good game though, we'll get ya next time

Great game!

As I hoped Malone had a great game, slow defence and tiny forwards, that did suit him perfectly!

Must say that Price impressed loads, impressive to handle the pressure and play well despite the criticism.
