I don't really understand why Pittsburgh wouldn't put in a claim for Brunnström. Low risk, high potential type pickup, only 25 years old, hit 17G in 55gp only a season ago. To make it even better his cap hit is only a paltry .675M and he's a RFA after this season. This is especially enticing considering the injury issues Pittsburgh has had early on in this season. Throw Brunnström on a line with one of Malkin and Crosby and give him a chance to show what he can do.

Maybe bruins will claim him? He is the next Chara after all.

I hope the Leafs roll the dice and claim him. They did want him bad before but the way MacArthur is playing, who's spot does he take? Won't be Kessel, Bozak, Versteeg, Grabo or MacArthur and I don't want Kulemin on the third line even though he's great defensively.

You know what, might be good logic. Pens top 6 isn't great aside from the big 2.

The Flames were one of the teams interested in him when he was first coming over from Europe. Interesting.

......ummmm no . We picked up Grabner and no reason to pick up Fabian do nothing Brunnstrom. Tavares is back this week. So we have no room as well as see my previous post in this thread.

If the Isles picked him, they would be absolutely stupid. We need veteran help not what if players...catch my drift

It looks like they are trying to sneak him to the AHL. Mike Heika's article provides some nice clarity to the situation. I think it is a good move, but unfortunately, I don't think he will make it through without being claimed.

Dallas might have the best depth at LW in the league, that being said I doubt he gets picked up.

On Brunnstrom: Gm's should not use youtube clips for scouting. They only show good plays.
On Valabik: just because you're a 6'7" dman does not make you another Chara.

I will say there is a good chance the Rangers take a flyer out on Valabik. Our 3rd pairing LD situation is a sordid affair.

The only team I could see claiming him is Toronto.

Nonis went hard after him when he was a free agent, to the point where he had essentially agreed to sign with the Canucks. But when Nonis got fired, Brunnstrom chose to sign with the Stars instead.

Honestly, a top 9(when healthy) of:

Kunitz-Crosby-Comrie
Brunnström-Malkin-Tangradi
Cooke-Staal-Kennedy

Is actually very enticing. Center depth as always is unparalleled, have some great reclamation projects in Comrie and Brunnström, sand paper with scoring ability in Kunitz and Cooke, a promising young powerforward in Tangradi and a great 3rd liner in Kennedy.

Definitely a roster that can/will succeed when push comes to shove. However I said the same thing when Grabner was put on waivers and the Islanders snatched him up so who knows if Brunnström will even make it to the Pens.

Brunnström has the skills, there's no doubting that. Heck, he scored 17 goals in 55 games 08/09.

I think he'd do great in Pittsburgh seeing how they're lacking top6 wingers. Also, he's cheap. Like, really cheap.

Who would you drop out of the Leafs top-six in order to fit him in?

Not a chance the Leafs claim him.

Are you saying you are not going to include Gilroy in every NYR trade proposition?

In that case you should claim him just for that.

There is always Christensen tough

I'm pretty confident someone will claim Valabik.
