That's some dedication right there!

I once went to the Pond to catch a Ducks game, couldn't get any tickets since they closed most sections behind the cameras... do they still do this?

I was looking around for their record on these ones historically -- I know it isn't good. It always seems to be a close one, too. I know one of our worst 'wtf' losses was during one last year, but I can't recall what happened exactly. Must have suppressed the memory for future trauma.

Tonight marks the 40th anniversary of the Sabres' first game – they lost 3-0 to the Canadiens that night. I predict Price stones them and the Habs will do everything possible to honor that 40 year old score by doing it again!

The entire place was open when I went for their first two games at home the season after they won the Cup.

Montreal is probably the team I am most afraid of as a Sabres fan because I never know what to expect.

One game the Sabres will blow them out, the next one the Habs dominate them, it usually goes back and forth.

I dont expect this to be a close game at all, either Habs win big or Sabres do, and I am sure it wont start till 8 Eastern because of all the pre-game ceremonies due to the 40th anniv.

Not sure if you guys know, but Buffalo will be wearing their whites tonight and you'll be wearing your reds.

The Buffalo Sabres announced today they will be celebrating the team’s 40th anniversary this Friday night – 40 years to the day of Buffalo’s first home game against the Montreal Canadiens on October 15, 1970. Game time vs. Montreal is 7:30 p.m., and tickets are still available.

The Sabres will wear their new white jerseys at home for the first time this season, and the Canadiens will wear their traditional red home jerseys.

The pre-game festivities will include a ceremonial faceoff featuring former Sabres captain Floyd Smith and Canadiens legend Henri Richard. Smith was part of the ceremonial faceoff at opening night in 1970.

Renowned tenor Ronan Tynan will perform the Star Spangled Banner for the first time ever at a sporting event, and former Sabres public address announcer Milt Ellis will also appear throughout the night making several in-game announcements.

Oh hell yeah...the Slug is gone...good riddance...what an awful, awful sweater that was.

The new whites are pretty nice...not as nice as the LaFontaine ear whites...but anything is better than the Slug.

I always liked the Sabres jersey back in the day,was a big Lafontaine fan, didn't understand why they made the switch to the Hasek style jersey in the late late 90's and even less the past jerseys, horrible

Montreal just needs to pass the puck to Tim Connolly and it will be an easy win for them.

Buffalo is one of the teams I don't enjoy watching.

We always take a TON of penalties and Ryan Miller plays like, well Ryan Miller against us. It's usually low scoring and we play like crap.

MTL usually gets a lot of praise for being a quick team, but when buffalo is clicking, they are working at warp speed, and the habs D isnt the most mobile group to begin with. This is probably the biggest reason why buffalo tends to give montreal fits, other than the obvious fact of Ryan Miller being one of the best in the business.

Price will have to be at least as good as he has been in the past two games for the habs to walk out successful.

I remember a Friday night in Buffalo during our great 07-08 season when we wore the red jerseys and won 6-2. Ah good times.

if the habs can hold the sabres to 30 or less shots they might have a chance, if not it will be a long night.
