I have a similar sentiment. I just feel like he will never be more then a 6-7th D. I don't know what it is that I don't like about his game, maybe it's just the confidence he plays with, I really don't know. I just don't want him playing next to our #1, becuase he's no #2

I love how as hab fans we expect our picks to be fully groomed earlier than other teams. Souray for instance didn't really make an impact until he was 29, and I see O'Byrne on a similar timeline. I don't expect him to have Souray's shot, but what I see in him is a good stay at home dman who adds a physical presence. Theres room on this team for that type of role player.

Souray had serious injuries, which hindered his development. I dont see OB as being an offensive juggernaut. Do u? Now, can he turn into a Hal Gill? Maybe - but he needs to start showing something sooner rather than later. Big guys tend to develop slower but the dude is 26

I'm going to the 23rd game in Ottawa. Hoping Markov is playing by then. I missed him @ my first Habs game last year.

There is alot of defensemen that started in the league at 25-26 years old and are doing very good. Also, many dmens are develloping till they are 28-29 years old. Look at guys like Ericsson, Beauchemin, Boychuk, Robidas, Bieksa, Brett Clark etc. But if he doesn't breakout this season or next I would say he will probably a 6th dmen for the rest of his career, but till there give the guy a chance.

Well, maybe I don't know what I am talking about when I say keeper...someone dropped him today and in order for me to pick him up I have to trade a roster player to grab him, however, if he is going to be out a while I don't want to waste those points....Poolie Rookie!

Look for #Canadiens A. Markov to participate in full contact practice early as Mon with next Sat as the target playing date vs #Senators
