Wow, Shelley's days are numbered. Every really ******** move Holmgren did this offseason is undoing itself (Leighton and Walker).

It is kind of a shame, though, because now no one will really get to see how badly he messed up and will get a pass...

Walker could be out?

Homers ass is still bleeding after Yzerman was done with him.

Seems like Tampa made all the right moves this year with new players (except Jones) , managing the cap by making deals with the worst cap manager in Holmgren, getting a good coach, etc etc.

Stevie Y I think will get that team going in the right direction and they have legit goals scorers such as Stamkos. Meanwhile, we have to hope Carter scores 40 goals again for us and produces in the playoffs...

We have it better than TB in that respect. At least we KNOW Carter can't produce in the playoffs. TB fans don't know if, really, any of their players can produce in the playoffs (since '04, no?).

The monster you know it better than the monster you don't?

True dat true dat.....still I don't think Stamkos is the kind of player who is a no show. The dude knows when to shoot and how to shoot and ON NET no less!

Instead of learning Capology 101....Holmgren has engaged in Garbology by taking in Stevie Y's trash. Meszeros is good so far but not for 4M....

Just read Timmeh's blog.

It's so amazingly awesome that without playing a single game the guy we got for Gagne -- who isn't even in our starting lineup anyway -- may miss "significant time" with a hip injury.

This was accelerated according to the formula. Usually it takes 10-14 days after the day-to-day prognosis to learn that he needs surgery.

Guys, I don't know why we are joking about injuries. I know we got screwed over in a trade, but it wasn't like Walker wanted to get traded to a team with 7 defenseman. It wasn't his fault that gagne got sent to tampa. Have a little respect.

How did he hurt his hip in a fight? that is a little strange. Well at least he will be ready for the playoffs, should the flyers make it, as decent option to insert should the need arise. He will have a nice rehab assignment on the phantoms. This will also make it an easier decision to waive him. The year will be what 3/4 played so you let him finish with the phantoms, then come to camp again next year.

What is with players on this team and hip injuries? Does it have anything to do with how the training staff has them prepare to warm up or train? How they have never made a change in that area over the years is baffling. They are not totally to blame but when you see the same track record of injuries year after year, the one common demoninator has remained the same.

...noting that Homer is a *ing moron, and this whole situation is comically bad does not imply that people are literally happy that Walker is injured at a personal level.

We are more ripping Homer. It stinks for Walker, but he is making millions of dollars to do nothing, so I don't feel to bad.

The flyers need to pull a phillies and replace the home grown Ed Wade of homer with an outside GM who understands math and the importance of goaltending.

Yeah I agree. Only four games into a season after winning a conference championship the year before is definitely a good time to start worrying and making drastic changes. Especially when the team is in first place.

A lot of horrendous GMs have won **** (or not, as is the case with Homer).

Sorry that the Flyers' first Eastern Conference Title since 1997 wasn't that big of a deal...

Yeah but everyone gets on Homer for making moves that "hurt" this team, when in reality, most of the moves helped the team make it to where they got last season. Leighton played very well and is a big part of the reason the Flyers even made the playoffs. Briere could have been Conn Smythe winner. Leino played ridiculous in the playoffs. And so forth and so on. The moves he has made this year that everyone is damning have yet to be proven good, bad, or otherwise. I know that your response to this will be that Leighton lost the Cup for the Flyers, but there is no telling what the team would have looked like with a different goalie because someone else would most likely have to have been moved so whatever argument you make for that is moot. The bottom line is that no moves he has made have hurt this team. Yeah, it sucks that Gagne is gone, but four games into the season, you can't say it was such a bad move because Zherdev (who I consider to be his replacement even though he wasn't traded directly for him) could score 100 points, who knows. In May if Gagne nets 50 and Zherdev has 10, ok it was a bad move. But if they are about the same, it wasn't a bad move and there is no point in saying otherwise now because it is four games into the season.
