Maybe because it was Halpern who started it ?

Benched. Apparently because he was -2. Honestly, I didn't find him to be horrible defensively. (Hammer and Spacek are -2 as well.)

Pretty good game
Tough second but a win is a win
Reg win vs a divisional team is even bigger

The last 40 mins were almost perfect, except that short span where we forgot what defense meant...otherwise, two strong games in a row vs division rivals, nice.

Even nicer, the new Andrei Kostitsyn. Impressive.

Eller just seems very raw overall. He's got all the tools, but he will definitely need time to learn how to play in the NHL, build up some strength (although at times he shows it), and play at both ends. I'm excited to see what he turns into though, and I think he'll come through for us. The skill and skating strength is undeniable.

CBC was just noting that all 3 goals were the result of high shots to the glove side, (Price's "weakness" according to scouting reports), which is true that's where they beat him, but Price realized that too it seems because he self-corrected his stance taking away that shot.

He made an outstanding glove save on Regin late in the 2nd to keep the score tied. Mentally, that's a big difference from last year's Price. He's definitely matured in his mental game and in his ability to self-correct. Great to see.

That's what I want to know too... I thought he was playing just fine for the few shifts he played.

With the kids it's all about confidence and of cause we don't given them that in this orginization.

I did like the way we skated tonigh and although our PP didn't score but it did look dangerous.

we really do need a big body with soft hands.... A John Leclair type

Huge points down the road too this weekend, taking a possible 4 of 4 and not giving any to two divisional opponents.

Was he responsible for the goals? Honest question because I didn't see how he was directly responsible for them.

3-1-1 after 5. There's still room for improvement but the results are good. Great to see the Habs outshoot an opponent, and by such a wide margin. Pleks & AK were great. Gio with a great goal. Gomez still not doing much though. Price has had better games but still got the W.

JM seems to have little patience with young players but infinite patience with his PP strategy.

Ottawa fans think the refs handed the habs the game. Finally nice to see the guys bail out the goaltending for a change. Can't wait till Markov is back.

I agree, but he was on ice 3 times when the habs scored. and none when they scored against him.
Subban and Picard played their game and paid off. They had a decent game.

he made some error. like all the team

Great game. Score doesn't indicate the true nature of this game. Montreal dominated galore. Ottawa was rarely a threat after mid-second period. Montreal put pressure on Ottawa's Ds all night, with two forwards. They are playing an agressive style. I love that. JM had a great game plan against Ottawa.

Not impressive. Unprecedented.

This team can succeed. Markov will help with ice time for undesserving players (I'm looking at you, Spaz!), transition game, power play and penalty kill.

Price isn't playing godlike hockey. He's playing like a good #1 goalie, better than the average, but not over his head. PP sucks (but at least is now getting shots), PK is doing great, and we're doing most of our damage at 5v5.

Has there been a good Markovless 5 on 5 Habs team since the lockout? No. This is a first. And the bad start where we got heavily outshot has been transformed into solid defensive play and discipline.

Could be a good year. Then again, Buffalo and Ottawa weren't really immense challenges.

I think Eller needs to anticipate the play better, he is actually too passive on the ice when he doesnt have the puck... Its a matter of positionning and gain confidence..

Are they gonna be patient with him or send him down to Hamilton to play big minutes and get overall better ? The Habs have Boyd and Halpern to play center on the bottom two lines.
