Montreal Needs Jarome Iginla. Having Iginla on our roster, when we have to go into Philly or some other tough team would be such a huge confidence boost. He would complete our top 6 with Gomez and Gio. He is the perfect player the habs need.

To calgary:
2 1st round picks
Max Paciorretty
Danny Kristo

To Montreal
Jarome Iginla

Thoughts?

Eh, Iginla makes 7M$, how do you want to fit that under our salarial cap?

Maybe, but for one of the best wingers in the league I'd make it. Gives us a real shot at the cup imo.

top pairing physical stay at home d-man is what we need.

Next summer...

To Calgary: Max Pacioretty + Yannick Weber
To Montréal: Robyn Regehr

defense next year:

Andrei Markov - Robyn Regehr
Josh Gorges - P.K. Subban
Jaroslav Spacek - Ryan O'Byrne/Alex Picard/Mathieu Carle

Trade Moen

How: He's playing okay in this early season and his contract, at 1.5M cap hit until the end of next year, is manageable. He is much more tradeable than many other contracts we have like Spacek's.

For What: Can't be greedy. A 4th or 5th round pick would be fine.

To Whom: A young team with a low payroll who needs a grinder with 'stanley cup experience'. We have plenty of veterans on this teams, including a few who touched the cup. Moen's experience has no value for us. Might not be the case for another team filled with recruits, especially one that is overperforming by November. The GM might start thinking that Playoffs are a possibility if the young players can stay calm and focused and adding a Stanley Cup winner in the locker room at a reasonable price might be seen as a good move.

Why: Make room for White who can fill the same role on the team but with more youth, exuberance and room for development. Cheaper too.

---

A bit of wishful thinking. 'More tradeable' doesn't mean 'High value'... But I really think swapping Moen for White improves the team and that's a more proactive way than 'wait for an injury'! It also sends a good message through Hamilton; we want to make room for you, keep training hard.

Why trade a proven player for a rookie who may or may not play like he did in the pre season? Not like White is going anywhere soon... we own his rights for a while. Why do we need a 4th or 5th? I dont see the point in this at all.

Wow
Let's make a trade for the sake of making a trade.
Serviceable or not they're tradable, so let's do it

As was said, Moen is better than white, potential wins tomorrow, experience helps you today.
