So yeah, you're right, those numbers coming in under-represented the talent level gap.
yeah yeah yeah

The Stars superior talent won the game in the shootout. So there.

well they say in any sport that the best teams can play like **** for 95% of the game and still take the points. I don't know if Dallas is one of the best teams but they certainetly seem to be taking steps forward from last season's futility in close games.

on to the Lighting! they got rocked tonight so they'll be pissed and looking for a bounceback game. It may be another ugly game lol

All for Dallas!

Wow, NHL.coms recap said that there was only 7000 people there because of the baseball game, sucks not many people went to see this game.

Official attendance was 11,000-ish, wasn't it? That's what they said on the post-game radio show.

ETA: Yup, 11,750 official attendance.

Had to work, sucks, but this makes my night. Somehow I'm just not nervous about this team with a Finn in net. Please no Raycroft.

I read up in the last page of the thread about Daley's play, makes sense that he played over 28 mins then...I was originally shocked by that when I looked at the boxscore. And Loui with over 23...those are elite player minutes!

Oh, and thanks Piqued for the update on Barnes' doo. Someone start a 'Stu's doo' thread for prediction...cut, perm, dye, crimp, extension, mohawk, etc. Maybe Ribs can float a few ideas his way??

The Ribeiro line, except for the occasional flash, looked lost. The Blues put a lot of pressure on Ribeiro, which shut down the line almost completely. I hope this was only a poor game and not a blueprint for other teams.

That's the blueprint for shutting down every scoring line the league, honestly. You put your best checkers and defense pair on that line and have the pressure the hell out of the playmaker.

I'm not particularly worried about it, though, because the Stars have two scoring lines, so it's a pick-your-poison scenario at this point. If they pressure the Ribeiro line, then the Richards line needs to come up with the big goals (which they did tonight). If the Richards line is getting pressured, like you see a lot on the road, then the Ribeiro line needs to come up with big goals (like they have in previous games). I'll be more concerned about lines looking lost if they're not dealing with that type of pressure.

That was sarcasm. It's shorter than ever. Maybe Ribs took a cue from him.

They could use one more player capable of offense. Burish has played ok, but he certainly doesn't appear to be the answer for 2nd line RW.

Can anyone seriously be shocked at this though?

Definitely not.

4-0-0. I'll take it!

I honestly couldn't name but handful of Blues players, so I'll trust you if you say that was the case. The line was baaad

The Stars need Benn back pronto. You can't expect this much awesomeness from Neal-Richards-Eriksson every night. I want to see some bottom-6 contribution

The shootout was incredible! I'm hoping they can keep the steam they've had so far.
