Ducks defenseman Andy Sutton underwent surgery Tuesday on his right thumb and is expected to be out of the lineup for six to eight weeks, the team announced.
Ducks defenseman Andy Sutton had surgery this morning to repair a fractured right thumb, suffered Oct. 8 at Detroit.
The surgery was done at the Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center in Los Angeles by hand specialist Dr. Steve Shin. Sutton is expected to return to play in approximately 6-8 weeks.
Hmm...I thought Mikkelson actually looked quite good when the Ducks played the Canucks recently. With the Sutton injury it seems a little odd; maybe they're taking another look at Souray.
see Ducks fans, that what ya guys get. ya guys should have warned Rangers management about Eminger.
rangers should claim Mikkelson and McArdle and Waive Eminger and White
Eminger makes Marek Malik look like an all star dman
u can only put 1 waiver claim every 24 hours, so that would be difficult...
my feeling is mcardle will pass through waivers and report to rochester, unless atlanta or cant-draft-properely-ourselves-so-we-claim-your-young-players-from-waivers-islanders puts in a claim
At this point I'm trying to figure out why Murray is making all these moves, it seems the Ducks have an abundance of marginal defensemen. Is he going to keep Fowler past 9 games, call Sbisa back up, make a trade? With Fowler "probable" for the next game I think there are only 5 defensemen ready.

Just shows to prove that just because you get picked to the show (and early too) doesn't mean you can make it.
In McArdle's defense, I think he's going to be an NHLer. All the tools are there for him to be one, and the work ethic is certainly there. We just have no room for him right now.

Not really. While I still don't like the idea of Grabner being waived, and would have rather sent Bitz down, McArdle and Bitz are similar players. McArdle being waived isn't a big thing. I don't think he'll be claimed, but if he does, no biggie. We already have Hordichuk and Bitz for toughness at forward, and Duco in the system who could be close to NHL ready. That's all McArdle really is at this point, a fighter with some offensive upside but nothing to get crazy about.
