No Zaborsky for Ässät now or to the Pelicans-match because of some silly rule NHL has. Is on a qualifying period and after 8 days should be playing, in the game after Pelicans.
At least they had the balls to release him before a huge losing streak ... oh wait, I think it was 13 games after all.
C'mon, how stupid do you have to be NOT to sack a coach who's team didn't win even one game in regulation time within the first 14(!!) games? At least they gave him a fair chance to change the team's course...
Holy cow, St. Pierre is finally going to the SM-liiga. I think he could do well there. He is definitely one of the AHL's elite playmakers and he could really be a force for Karpat's powerplay. I had the chance to watch him a lot when he played for the Blackhawks farm club in Rockford, he's absolutely brilliant in the AHL but his size/game never translated to the NHL.
Fantastic move! Absolutely fantastic. One of the best wingers in SM-liiga and he comes to play Jokerit! Now we get three offensive lines and each of them would be first line in every team in the league, almost .
Justin Forrest
???------->Jokerit
Interesting move from Kekäläinen. I didn't except this kind of defender. Well let's see how he plays.

Let's see...Yeah, I would take the (hypotethical) Eaves-Nokelainen-Pihlman as our (Ässät) third line, would be a neat little line for the play-offs, other than that, meh...Perhaps Pulkkinen though to give some competition for the winger scoring position, although he would probably be left without icetime after Huhtala recovered.
Not saying those are bad top three lines though, should be enough, atleast, to secure a place in the top ten for you guys.

Dear god no at their curret salaries (which I expect to be very big).
Jan Lasak has signed with Jokerit. Contract lasts until january 25th, with an option for the remainder of the season. Kind of expected something to happen with the way Järvinen has played this year.
Finnish legend netmind Ari Sulander joins Pelicans on 2 week loan
Jokerit decide not to extend the contract of defender Tommi Kovanen (who scored 2+9 in 17 games)
They didn't get to an agreement with Tommi and the asking price might have been too much (Jokerit is in tight budget atm after getting Pihlman and Lasak who they were able to sign from the sales of the Talviklassikko) and there is word that Kovanen might want to play abroad.
I Kinda like the TiNppa-signing eventhough I'm not a fan of Kärpät, guys like this bring some colour to the league, him being swiss (he's like the second swiss player ever in SM-liiga?) and ofcourse his willingness to fight. Never too many latvians in the league either...
