The Bobs seemed well received in my section for the most part but yeah didn't hear any in the Boosh way after a save. It was more like one person would say Bob in the sponge bob way and then another random person would repeat it and then so on...kind of funny. But in the 3rd period I would have liked to have seen some Booooooob's indeed.... The only Boobs I saw were the Pitt fans who were annoying....I also had two very large girls eating next to me nonstop. I swear they could have put the Wells Fargo Center into foreclosure. They would have needed another bailout at their pace...wow!

217A was a mess. A lot of Penguin fans, probably 60% of the section, it was horrible.

RoDu...off topic..saw that you're from Winnipeg. Lived there when I was a young kid for a couple of years after moving from Montreal where I was born. I went to Agassi Drive school and lived at 777 University Crescent if I remember right...it was an apartment complex called Summerland..do both still exist?

I was in 209A....there was a good amount around me too...the most annoying ones were the ones at the bottom of the escalators hooting and hollering at their fellow fans coming down and high fiving them when they got down at the bottom. Completely obnoxious....

Hahah the best thing to do dude is this thing I say every time I'm around some friends of mine from Pittsburgh up at school it sould work well at Flyers games too, just when you're walking by them stop for second, take a sniff of the air and proclaim, "Goddammit...it smells like perogies and Sheetz in here."

ha ha! Good one! One of my buddies is from the Pitt area (Franklin PA) and he's a Pens fan and he would have been embarrassed at some of the antics...

I still never will forget the last Pitt and Flyers game I was at. The guy next to me was in the concourse ripping Pens fans and he wasn't any classier to say the least but his zingers were hard not to laugh at. Felt like grade school. The most brutal was him ripping on this guy with a Malkin jersey who was eating an ice cream cone. He called him "snow cone" and was basically calling him a retard..it was pretty bad but had to be there b/c the guy did look kind of "slow" ....

Another great article; thanks for the link.

I found this interesting, in reference to why there are fighter jets on his mask:

Another indication the kid has a great attitude:

Quote:
Bobrovsky was mentally prepared to play the season in the AHL and knows that it's still a strong possibility even if he tries not to think about it. He is on a two-way contract.

"Yes. If the coaches aren't happy with my game, it's not excluded that they can send me to the Phantoms. But I don't think about that scenario. I got a chance. And I have to hold onto it the best I can. The competition is huge. We all have to work hard."

"Although when I came here, I prepared myself mentally to the fact that I can end up in the AHL."

The original article (in Russian) is priceless. I loved his response to the question: "What surprises you the most in Americans?"

The response was (certainly in my translation):"Nothing. I came here with the hockey in mind. all Summer and all vacation I had been preparing myself that it would be very difficult. And I am ready for this. There is absolutely different life in America. Different rules and different laws.... I do not have any serious problems. But I have a big goal, and I do not pay attention to the little things."

Sounds great for 22 year old kid.

Thanks for the article.

Bob seems like a good guy, who enjoys his sleep, a lot.

Found this interesting:

Quote:
"Boucher told me that he had carefully followed Bobrovsky since the start of training camp. And according to him, Bobrovsky is the quickest goalie he's ever seen."

"And that's one goalie talking about another goalie."

Bobrovsky: "I have no time to miss something."

That sounds like something Ivan Drago would have said. I love it.

The season is only a few games old and the Flyers and Bobrovsky have already faced the Penguins twice. Bobrovsky doesn't have to think for long who is the most hated player around.

"Crosby?"

awesome

I like this kid. He has his head screwed on right, and his answers don't seem to be the generic ********. The fact that he is playing so well despite the fact that he can't talk to the defense is amazing. Once he learns to communicate, we could really see the real bob.
