Leafs at Red Wings

Did anyone see this game? The Leafs played VERY poorly. The only one that actually showed up for the game was Belfour. He made at least 10 game-savers.

1-1 final

Renberg scores short-handed.

Datsyuk scores for Detroit.

(Belak & Kondratiev were by far the worst Leafs this game:mad: ).Leafs took 10 penalites,or somewhere in that range.

If most of our games are going to look like tonight, we are in for a long season

Damn, the Wings fans must be in full panic mode then.

Couldn't beat a horrendously bad team.

Not exactly leafs best Line-up

Rookie Matt Stajan centered Roberts and Nolan
Antropov centered Perrott and Poni Boy
Reichel between Renberg and Leeb
Tucker with Domi and Belak..

Nice to see Roberts and Antropov in the lineup..

Belfour was outstanding...

Detroit had all the big guns including Hasek in Net and a Defense of

Lidstrom, Chelios, Hatcher, Schneider, Fisher and Dandenault..

On paper this game should have been 20 - 1 ...

I thought even though outplayed Leafs effort was much better than other games.....

oh ya, I forgot to mention Perrott leveled Schneider with a hit that made Schn'd fall into the Leafs bench.

Belfour saved your ass and your PK was great. Hasek still showing rust.

it would have been 20-1 for the red wings, if belfour didnt play his ass off. the rest of the team stank. datsyuk and zetterberg made the leafs look laughable at times. leafs need to get it together.

Klee was needed in that Detroit game, as was Berg - both better than Coli and Kondriatev at this stage by far.

Belak was atrocious. Antropov, Roberts and Nolan were lazy.

I am actually a moderate Renberg fan who often defends him in Toronto, but he is starting to look like that guy who knows his career is over and is hoping that if he looks like he is trying real hard, no one will notice that he is not that effective. I like him down low, but he cherry picks sometimes, is very slow, not imaginative at all and has stones for hands. When he scored he shook his head like it was an accident or something.

Again I agree. Renberg is the kinda guy you can send into the corner and 90% of the time will come out with the puck. Hard worker, strong on his skates, not great defensively but not terrible either, and truly has hands of stone. He's a great complimentary player on the 2nd or 3rd line but you have to pair him with the right guys in order to get the most out of him.
