Lewis and Clifford IN; Schenn and Westgarth OUT; Bernier Wed; Quick Thurs

Official Los Angeles Kings twitter:

Quote:
#lakings coach Terry Murray says both Lewis and Clifford will be in the line-up tomorrow vs. CAR. Scratched will be Westgarth and Schenn.-PR

#lakings coach Murray also says Bernier will start tomorrow's game in net and Quick will go Thurs at PHX. -PR
I guess this is Clifford's last shot to prove something? I'm kind of shocked that Schenn will get the night off, no biggie though, I expect him to be up here all year

I'm partially surprised about Schenn.

I'm more surprised he's actually sticking to getting Bernier playing time. I was half expecting Quick to start tomorrow and Thursday.

Clifford, Lewis, and Richie are going to have a real opportunity right here to provide some scoring with Westgarth getting the night off.

Not surprised by Schenn, Lokti and Clifford have both been scratched now its his turn. I still think he stays for the season. Im more surprised to see Bernier getting another start so soon considering we've had like a 4 day break between games.

Good move, I think. Don't ride Quick into the ground and let Bernier play. We have a huge week of game after game this week, so Quick will have lots of chances.

Happy to see Lewis getting his one shot to stay on the team.

Really happy to Bernier get another start. It only helps both goalies, the more experience Bernier gets the better he'll be and a more rested and fresher Quick can be much sharper.

God i love the Kings problems! lol

Could be a case of giving Quick the more important (marginally) division match vs. Phoenix.

Nice to see Bernier back in goal tomorrow.

I would have played Quick tomorrow so that he gets the extra day off, but it's good to give Bernier a home game.

The kings did this a million years ago when they had Rogie and Gary Edwards, and it worked pretty well......sadly we haven't really had a quality duo since

Well, we did have Hrudey/Berthiaume(sp) and (before they sucked!) Potvin/Storr.

Awesome, I think its smart to play Bernier at home and have Quick play the division game in Phoenix.

Good that Westgarth is scratched against Canes, because I don't see any fighters in their team. My guess is that Clifford will be the first Kings rookie to score this season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lewis again in PHX due to how well that team skates. I'm hoping to see Clifford come out and play with more urgency as well.

More important to play Quick against the division rival.

Clifford needs to come straight out and fight TKO first thing. Carolina is a team where we can afford to give other players a chance against them.

The LA Kings don't need Trevor Lewis! He was a midling 2006 first rounder who has shown nothing if anything at all. I would've rather had Patrik Berglund...Anyways AKopitar & BSchenn are the future at centre not Lewis...

Clifford Will Be Sent Back To Juniors...

So as to not stymie his offensive development Kyle Clifford will be sent back to juniors. This will prove to be a good move because he will play 25-30 minutes a night for a Barrie team that is struggling mightily without him right now. And Cliff will likely also play for in WJC. Cliff will be all the better for his experience and will be great next to Schenn next season and beyond...Go Cliff go,Go Kings Go!!!

I think after everything is said and done that we are hoping that Parse makes it back before the 9 game try out is up so tha we can return Lokti (if he continues at this pace) back to the AHL for a little more needed fine tuning to his game.

I also think that we will ultimately see Cliffy sent down as well, to where and how long is still questionable but likely back to Juniours to become the monster that he is/has been becoming.

Will Lewis remain with the club is a good question.

Braden is likely to stay with us and in fact I think that most of us would be stunned if he was sent down. I just can't see it happening.

In the end if we have BS, Muzz, JB, Lewis (or maybe one of the other kids) and Westy all playing their rookie years with us we will be over loaded with kids.

We'll need a babysitter more than a rookie development coach.

I don't like this one bit...send the back or play them. This is how the Kings handled Dustin Brown his first year under AM and it took 3 seasons for him to break through.

It has only been 4 games. They probably will. Nothing wrong with throwing them a bone for outplaying players who should be above them on the depth chart. I think Schenn still has a chance to stick around but Clifford is more than likely going back and Clune will get called up (if he hasn't got hurt yet).

I agree in the case of Westy.

So far he is being used like he is a cement headed type of goon but the kid has skill and should be the option for RW on our fourth line. Give him a little time and he could become more. Give him less time and he will fulfill TM's vision.

I like Westy too but he's done nothing yet, there's no need to play him against a team with no heavyweight(Carolina). TM's making the right call with this one.
