Don't have to have inside sources to come up with that...does anyone seriously think Markov is going anywhere?
Obviously he's going to re-sign...and obviously, it's going to be a deal in the 4-5-6 year range.
Man, some people (in this case Tony M) will do anything to be the first to break a news story lol, even state the obvious
yeah, nobody can replace markov on this club (yes, that includes subban).... and even the free agent markov rarely has a markov calibur player available.
So its obvious that the organization wants him, the question is whether markov wants to be back. If he feels the same about the city and the organization as he did when he signed his current deal, I dont see why not... but he's so reserved that I dont like to speculate too much.
he better....a few things that has to be considered with him:
1. He's not getting any younger
2. Maybe its coincidence but i think he's become more of a risk in terms of injury
3. Its a long term contract
I think 5 million per year is more likely...it all depends on how many years. If its one or two years he's likely making around what he makes now...if its 5-6 years then they have to lower the cap hit as much as they can.
and yes he's got tons of pluses...we would be nothing on the PP at least short term without him...i'm sure as soon as he comes back or soon after our PP will get better...not to mention what he contributes defensively.
