Sabre forward Jason Pominville has resumed exercising coming off of a concussion and has been cleared to travel with the team to Atlanta Tuesday afternoon. Pominville rode the bike while the team skated before leaving for Georgia.
"I feel good. Much better than the first few days. I rode the bike and got the heart rate up a bit. It feels good right now and, hopefully, will feel good the rest of the day, too."
ATLANTA -- Jason Pominville was waiting for the puck. Next thing he knew, a handful of doctors were pinching and prodding him. In between was nothing but blackness.
"I was sleeping for two, three minutes. The trainers came out and were trying to, I don't know what they were doing, either pinching me or trying to wake me up. Eventually, I kind of woke up and saw four, five doctors around me, so I was kind of wondering what was going on.
"But as they started asking me questions, I think my memory was pretty good. I remembered who had scored and what had happened throughout the game, so the question-answering part of it was good."
Pominville rode a bike before skating. He said he had no problems riding on the team plane, which worsened Tim Connolly's condition during one of his comebacks from concussions.
"He’s gone through two bike rides where he’s felt better," Ruff said. "Usually, a plane ride doesn’t affect it when they get to a certain point. I was just happier he got through yesterday’s bike ride with no ill effects."
